Job Description:

AQUENT is seeking a Senior Product Owner in Austin, Texas to work in an Agile, cross-functional platform environment.  We are seeking someone with 5-10+ years of digital platform Product Management experience. AQUENT offers a W2 hourly pay, health benefits, dental, vision, and a matching 401K. The ideal Product Owner will have experience: 

  • Working in a Scrum team - daily ceremonies - stand up meetings, two week sprints. 
  • Meeting w/ tech team to review & refine user stories
  • Refining user stories stories in the backlog- (managed by you)
  • Sprint planning sessions when things are priortized and assigned to tech team every morning meet w/ tech team, what is the progress?
  • Morning stand-up w/ Tech team shares challenges & PO removes blockers 
  • Meetings on a weekly basis w/ other product managers & discuss challenges w/ interation or any new requirements 
  • Plus skills: works a lot in Splunk and other data analytics tools 
  • Communication skills, working w/ vendors, leadership, other product owners/managers -communicating at different levels -tech stakeholders & business stakeholders 
  • Communication issues the team is facing.

Product Owner skills -- What you have

  • Entrepreneurial passion, professional persistence and a perpetually positive attitude
  • Experience working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team within an interactive process and an Agile development methodology
  • Highly motivated with outstanding organizational skills and ability to track multiple products all at once
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations in order to tell a compelling story; experience providing frequent updates to stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly research and assess enterprise systems, processes and capabilities, with a focus on identifying structural issues/inefficiencies, functional interdependencies and cross-enterprise redundancies
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly synthesize disconnected documentation and artifacts, and employ frameworks or other organizing principles to demonstrate their collective relevance to the organization or a specific opportunity
  • Demonstrated experience in modeling and rationalizing the cost basis and timeline implications of buy versus build decisions
  • Extensive experience in creating and evolving visual models such as flow charts, business capability maps, process diagrams, journey maps, and story maps
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business (MBA a strong plus)
  • 5+ years digital product experience
  • Good understanding and/or experience with financial services regulations is a plus.
  • Good understanding/experience of digital payments and fintech products
  • Experience with API development

The team is responsible for:

  • Client Focus – Developing a deep understanding of our external clients and internal service consumers, building close relationships with key stakeholders and defining business strategy for cross-enterprise capabilities   
  • Partnership – Providing self-service cross-enterprise API products to empower our various channels to rapidly deliver capabilities to our clients
  • Strategy – Setting a clear and aspirational product vision for cross-enterprise busines services
  • Execution –Owning and driving all aspects required to bring new digital capabilities to clients, including the definition, creation, development and implementation of the solutions that help us drive unparalleled speed, scale, and service to the enterprise
