We're looking for a Senior Editor / Writer for one of our clients in the metro Atlanta area.

As a senior editor/writer, you are versatile and passionate and relish creative challenges in the content realm. This client is looking for a storyteller who can work on a wide variety of deliverables, both short and long form including social media, blog posts, video scripts, thought leadership articles and more. 

We’re looking for a writer who can develop long-form business articles from scratch.


Skills and attributes for success​:​

We need a writer with a journalistic background who understands financial services and can interview subject-matter resources and produce articles and thought leadership. The candidate should be comfortable speaking with senior executives and translating their ideas into actionable content. Most of the resumes we’ve seen thus far have been tilted toward the marketing or consumer end of the spectrum: people who have written for banks about checking accounts or new financial products, for instance. That’s not what we need. I would recommend looking for former business reporters at organizations such as Bloomberg or a financial news periodical. We might also find viable candidates at financial institutions as long as they focused primarily on business issues rather than consumer news. Speed, accuracy and versatility are musts.

Senior Editor Writer role:

  • Five-plus years of writing and editing experience, preferably in business journalism working for financial publications
  • Practical working knowledge of financial services industry issues
  • Capacity to write engaging content read by business professionals in banking, insurance, and wealth and asset management
  • Willingness to dig deep into business issues and use writing skills to tell a compelling story
  • Versatility to write in various modes, with a focus on articles, survey reports, blog posts and related content
  • Ability to understand background documents and ask the right questions of executives to develop content
  • Strong executive presence and a sense of urgency

To qualify for the role, you must have​:​
• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related discipline
• Five-plus years of writing and editing experience, preferably in business journalism with practical working knowledge of financial services publications and industry issues
• Familiarity with cybersecurity, risk management, business transformation, growth and technology transformation
• Strong executive presence and a sense of urgency
• Advanced problem-solving skills to identify, resolve and overcome challenges
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams and Outlook and familiarity with Adobe Acrobat
• Temperament to mentor proofreaders and copy editors, including critiquing projects and providing constructive feedback in a virtual environment
• Willingness to work overtime
