Job Description:

Looking for an experienced content distribution lead to focus on a variety of tech innovations, including engineering, augmented/virtual reality, engineering, and artificial intelligence.

You’ll work remotely as part of our client’s technology communications editorial team, which manages a bundle of digital content channels focused on AR/VR, artificial intelligence, engineering, and other aspects of innovation, that collectively reach nearly 18 million people. This is a team of storytellers — a mix of trained journalists, video producers, and marketers. All of the content we produce is tied to business objectives, which vary depending on the business, but are mainly centered on elevating the client’s tech innovation brand awareness, and recruitment. Much of the role is strategic, but the bulk of it is tactical: you’ll write/edit and schedule posts.

The ideal candidate should have experience leading social media strategy, tactical execution and data-informed optimization. You should wake up thinking about how to package content that resonates with target audiences, and builds communities, too. You should be able to work effectively in a highly cross-functional environment to bring the client’s tech innovation stories to life on owned content channels, often under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:
Manage several social media accounts targeting key audiences, including engineers, tech-informed policymakers, and AI researchers.
Build and manage a content distribution calendar that aligns content strategy with Communications, Marketing and business objectives.
Make sure that social content is accurate, on-brand, and reflects a channel-consistent style, voice, tone, and quality that resonates with our target audiences.
Create and lead approvals for social content within a highly cross-functional environment that includes partners from Communications, Legal, and Marketing, as well as our visual content leads.
Provide real-time social channel moderation and engagement that’s channel-appropriate and mitigates risk.
Provide data-informed recommendations and guidance to a variety of stakeholders, including executive communications partners.
Manage and develop relationships with internal clients, to help social campaigns deliver on core business goals.
Serve as a content distribution subject matter expert who can help elevate various partners’ understanding. Regularly share content distribution/social media industry trends to elevate our work.
Measure the performance of social content, and set meaningful benchmarks to inform content recommendations and decisions.
Prioritize effectively between many responsibilities, requests, and stakeholders, and communicate timelines clearly.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years managing social media accounts, preferably at a traditional media company, branded content studio, or large company
Experience writing and editing for social – ideally for channels aimed at highly targeted audiences (for example, engineers, researchers, scientists)
Comfort using Google Analytics, FB Analytics, Twitter, and Hootsuite
Proven ability to work independently and as part of highly cross-functional team
Proven ability to deliver results on deadline
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Ability to handle the complexities of creating content for a technology company
Proven ability to spot trends and themes, preferably in technology. Must be highly attuned to a variety of macro issues in the news
Proven ability to quickly anticipate and mitigate risk
Strong attention to detail
