Associate Level Brand Manager - Toy

This is a long term freelance position starting in January 2021, going 9 month freelance 40 hours/week. MUST BE LOCAL TO PAWTUCKET RI area! Role will be hybrid onsite + work from hom.

We have an immediate need for a detail-oriented, innovative product & consumer marketer to help oversee global product development & marketing for our high-profile brand team. You will help manage the line planning activities to drive the brand. A strong candidate possesses a strong work ethic and an appreciation for the joy that toys bring to passionate fans around the world. In this critical role, you will partner with cross-functional teams (design & development, packaging, engineering, product management, data governance) on all phases of product development. You will also assist on consumer-facing marketing activities such as digital assets and reveal activities. As such, the successful candidate will need to be a proactive, high-energy, collaborative, and responsive team member. With a mindset that combines creative acumen with strong judgment, you will build and leverage best practices to enable the business to exceed brand goals.

A day in the life:
Under the general direction of the Brand Senior Director and Senior Brand Manager for the Fan business, you will:

• Assist in delivering the go-to-market product strategy
• Partner with cross-functional teams to execute key brand initiatives, including finding innovative ways to grow higher-margin businesses
• Drive product innovations leveraging creative thinking through the system to better meet and exceed consumer demands
• Partner with the global supply chain to identify programs to decrease development costs and gain efficiencies where applicable
• Assist in development of primary assets for digital marketing, PR and other marketing communications, taking ownership of DAD & photo shoots
• Adopt, embrace and embody the brand fan consumer mindset in all facets of strategic thinking, product development and marketing executions
Take ownership of the P2M, HDM, & Jetpack systems for Fan segments, driving strong organization of brand line plans
Support Fan events around the world to prepare the brand statement, connect with fans, and present product reveals
Manage licensor relationship with Lucasfilm for Fan segments through system submissions

Understanding of the steps necessary to bring products to market and to implement a fully integrated marketing program
Creative and strategic thinking. Ability to be agile and flexible in thinking.
Motivated self-starter who is able to creatively tackle problems and maximize available resources.
Ability to make informed decisions quickly to keep performance on track.
Collaborative; able to work with, get information/help from and influence internal groups
Data analysis: can make sense of quantitative and qualitative information affecting the brand
Strong project management abilities; capable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously under tight time constraints
Well developed, verbal, written and dynamic presentation skills.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Bachelor’s Degree (Marketing, Advertising, or related field preferred)

1-2 years experience in consumer goods marketing, or equivalent

Per the hiring manager: Given the uncertainty in terms of when we go back and what the split looks like, I would say that the position will be a mix of in office time and remote work to be crafted pending client approach
