Our client's VFX Pipeline Developer is responsible for the creation of visual effects tools and workflows and automating processes for the 3D/VFX pipeline. The individual must be creative and self-sufficient while providing technical solutions and project tracking.
●Assist in the design, development, testing and maintenance of new tools or updates to existing tools.
●Develop and support Python scripts to automate certain areas of the pipeline.
●Develop Maya and Houdini plugins and scripts to enhance and streamline the production pipeline.
●Work with VFX Supervisor and Pipeline Supervisor to identify strategic opportunities.
●Take ownership of technical issues and work with the pipeline team and external users to resolve.
●Adapt tools to the problems at hand while balancing between long-term tool sets and short-term production-specific demands.
●Implement and document pipeline tools, scripts, and procedures to support the development and deployment of creative productions within the Marketing Communications department.
●Experience building pipelines and deploying tools for a distributed team.
●Development experience in Maya and Houdini as well as experience building tools and OTLs/HDAs for Houdini.
●Solid Experience with Python and VEX in developing content creation tools and plug-ins.
●Experience with user interface development and design using Qt and PyQt/PySide.
●Familiarity with Network Render Queuing systems such as Deadline.
●Experience working in OSX and/or Linux.
●Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to bridge creative and technical aspects of 3D production.
●Experience with V-Ray and/or Cinema4D is a plus.
●Experience with Shotgun, Ftrack, NIM , or writing database savvy tools is a plus.
●AR/VR development experience is a plus.
●Ability to thrive as a member of a team.
●Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
●Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
