Job Description:

Our Food & Beverage Client is looking for a Life-Cycle Assessment Specialist !! 

This role will be responsible for explaining and applying LCA-related environmental impacts to products and supply chain, describing the main drivers of the environmental footprint, and providing recommendations to reduce impact in product and the corporate space. This role will further take leadership for designing and defining roadmaps and recommendations for the brand, based on the LCA, including key milestones for achieving our carbon positive commitment by 2025.

Key responsibilities:

1. Utilizing the full completed, life-cycle assessment (LCA) data and methodology of Horizon dairy, including full supply chain emissions, to develop and align strategic reduction strategies and integrated roadmaps for the Horizon brand to achieve neutrality by early 2025 and positive by end of 2025

2. Expanding the full organic dairy LCA to other minor product lines, managing the completion of the Growing Years product line level LCA

3. Managing the documentation and process for Horizon Organic to achieve the carbon neutral certification with The Carbon Trust setting up milestones and processes in the first 12-month period to enable key milestones and full certification by 2025

4. Managing the documentation for the Growing Years whole milk half gallons to with established plans in place to achieve carbon neutrality 2021

5. Complete monthly dashboarding of process and updates to be shared and aligned with program leadership

6. Subject matter expertise and actively working as a spokesperson both internally and externally as required

7. Support and/or lead strategic outreach within the broader industry in order to drive Danone’s credibility as a carbon positive leader

Professional Experience/Education needed

- Bachelor’s degree in related field minimum
- 3-4 years of experience in LCA, carbon accounting or related field
- Knowledge/Experience in Life Cycle Assessment development and methodology
- Knowledge of ISO 14040/44 and 21930
