Job Description:

Looking for a Software Developer to join a growing team. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a startup environment. This person will report directly to the CTO and will be responsible for building and maintaining their suite of products.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working with web development standards like HTML, CSS, and Javascript in the context of a framework like Ruby on Rails. This includes using Chrome or Firefox Developer tools for debugging. The candidate should also be comfortable with DevOps workflows with git and CI/CD tools and be able to implement unit and regression tests in Ruby using RSpec or Minitest. Experience working with relational databases and/or document stores like MongoDB or DynamoDB is also necessary.


  • Assisting with all aspects of analysis, design and coding including unit and regression testing
  • Assist with implementation/onboarding of new clients when needed
  • Implementing bug fixes and new features to existing products
  • Participating in daily scrum meetings
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
  • Integration of data storage solutions
  • Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization


  • Experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries
  • Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Good understanding of server-side templating languages
  • Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful
  • A knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code
  • Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
  • Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests



  • Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience
  • At least two years of Ruby on Rails professional experience with a production product or service
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Programming in Ruby
  • At least two years of Javascript professional experience on a production product or service preferably with ES6
  • Must be comfortable working on the command line
  • Must be comfortable working with git and github
  • Should have familiarity with CI/CD concepts and preferably experience working with pipelines
  • Experience with MongoDB is a plus
  • Experience with Heroku is a plus
  • Experience with PHP is a plus


NOTE: Ideal candidates for this role will have 2-5 years of experience using Ruby on Rails and JavaScript. This position will be primarily remote, with ocassional travel to Atlanta and Birmingham as needed. Prefer candidates from ATL area to work onsite.
