Job Description:

UX Researcher role sought to support experiences on an e-reading platform and device. This is a full-time and hourly role working for our client, the most known name in technology. Role runs through June 2020 and does have excellent benefits after 30 days on assignment (health, dental, vision and 401K).

SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED

You have a deep understanding of UX research methods and best practices with strong observational and analytical skills. You can work with minimal direction while delivering high-quality research outputs (i.e. research plans, protocols, screeners, insight reports, highlight reels, et.c). You're able to identify best method or mix of methods based on research questions, timeline and resourcing. You have end-to-end experience with all aspects of the user research lifecycle (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, communicating). You have hands-on experience with: concept testing, survey design, remote & lab-based user testing, and usage of multiple methods within a study. You're able to perform quick but thorough data analysis to create insightful and actionable plans with a willingness to advocate and escalate insights as appropriate. 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 3-6 years of hands-on experience conducting UX research in an applied setting.
  • BA/BS or advanced degree in the field of Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, or related discipline.
  • End-to-end experience with all aspects of the user research lifecycle (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, communicating).
  • Applied experience with usability testing, remote testing, concept evaluation, field research, and survey design.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g.: study plans, reports, and data visualizations).

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • MA/MS or Ph.D in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, or related discipline.
  • Experience from working in a fast paced software development environment within a highly entrepreneurial organization.
  • A healthy mix of qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with customers of all ages and diverse backgrounds
  • Applied research experience in non-US markets.

Years of experience required

  • 3-6 years of hands-on experience conducting UX research in an applied setting.
  • End-to-end experience with all aspects of the user research lifecycle (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, communicating).
  • Applied experience with usability testing, remote testing, concept evaluation, field research, and survey design.
  • User research / UX design – this person will need to have practical professional work experience in this field  
  • Strong command of research methods and has better understanding of controlling for biases
  • Task based usability testing is required for this!
  • Ability to logically defend decisions and thought process
  •  A healthy mix of qualitative and quantitative methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with: concept testing, survey design, remote & lab-based user testing, and usage of multiple methods within a study.
  • Ability to perform quick but thorough data analysis to create insightful and actionable plans with a willingness to advocate and escalate insights as appropriate.
