The Brand Operations Manager (BOM) is the key client interface across all brand related workstreams. This role will maintain a deep and current understanding of the brand and its label, competitive environments, and applicable strategies and objectives. In so doing, the BOM will interact with key stakeholders and ensure integration, efficiency and client-dictated compliance with all stated processes and requirements.

Initiating with the agile marketing teams and their periodic sprint planning, the BOM will provide guidance, as needed, towards the creation of their creative deliverables while highlighting potential challenges and considerations. This support will not be confined to that which can be provided by Aquent and, in fact, will benefit all potential third-party suppliers/vendors/agencies. The BOM will be responsible for job intake for those initiatives of a larger, more strategic nature, and will partner with Aquent Brand Execution Managers for their specific handling of other deliverables. They will gather and understand all project requirements and will be responsible for prepping and handing off assignments to the BEM and Project Management teams as well as direct client communication throughout the lifecycle of projects.

Location: Upper Gwynedd (2-3 days per week) and Conshohocken (1-2 days per week)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Identify and maintain effective relationships with key client stakeholders

• Attend day-to-day contact, client-facing meetings, including agile marketing team sprints and medical legal review as needed, while identifying revenue opportunities, project scope, production work effort

• Split time between the client’s onsite location and Aquent offices

• Collaborate with Brand Execution Managers (BEMs) in assigning and managing workloads

• Help establish goals and manage client expectations to ensure successful project execution and delivery

• Administer Decideware process and approvals

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned brand teams and across all work channels

• Partner with other BOMs and BEMs, as needed, on the resolution of issues and identification of opportunities regarding their clients and projects

• Participate in the development of scopes-of-work (SOWs), estimating, and project kick-offs

• Master understanding of client guidelines, processes and production requirements

• Develop a working knowledge of Assembler to facilitate discussions with Design Stewards

• Assist in creation and delivery of Aquent capabilities pitch presentations to new contacts

• Display an excellent customer service attitude at all times, and effectively represent Aquent’s values

• Develop a keen understanding of the client’s visual brands, target audiences, competitive environment, and marketing/communication objectives

• Manage multiple projects concurrently, taking ownership of all interim and final deliverables, managing client expectations, and meeting all commitments/deadlines

• Develop and communicate project scope, objectives, requirements, and budget parameters to internal teams

• Oversee management and maintenance of budget tracking for assigned PO/project(s)

• Demonstrate a high-level understanding of all phases of the design/production process from project inception through final release of files

• Work closely with BEMs and Project Managers to ensure that deadlines are met, client feedback and changes are accurately communicated, and project-related issues are quickly resolved

• Evaluate and analyze client efforts and provide recommendations for optimizing performance against strategic goals


• Bachelor’s degree in a related field

• 8+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, familiarity with industry terms, and a high level of understanding of industry compliance requirements

• 10+ years of project management/account management for design studio, internal creative department, or agency environment with demonstrated success managing broad range of visual communications in a fast paced environment

• Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills

• Experience working under strict timeline demands and demonstrated ability to juggle multiple quick-turn projects and changing priorities

• Proficiency with basic office computer applications, especially Office, Google Drive, and Adobe commenting and review tools

• Basic understanding of InDesign, PhotoShop, and Illustrator, as well as print production and image/data rights

• Knowledgeable about new technologies particularly around digital marketing

• Strong business acumen
