Operations Specialist for AR / VR Communications Team

Job Description:

This Ops Specialist will be 60% responsible for supporting the AR/VR Internal Communications Team and 40% responsible for office- and culture-related communications!

Job Duties:

  • The person will be primarily responsible for providing operations support for the AR/VR internal communications team (60%), which includes:
    • Managing all event logistics for comms-led events, such as coordinating with executive assistants, scheduling, booking rooms, managing the run of show and execution on the day of (e.g., All Hands, Q&As, manager meetings, etc.)
    • Developing templates, guidelines, and best practices for event management
    • Managing the daily internal comms editorial calendar, as well as related work streams, such as look aheads and readouts)
    • Serving as a community manager for comms-managed Workplace groups
    • Serving as the main POC with EAs across all AR/VR offices
    • Provide general writing and editing support as needed
  • The person will be secondarily responsible for office- and culture-related comms in the Bay Area (40%), which includes:
    • Working with D&I partners and FBRG leads on communications, including regular D&I updates to the org, supporting communications steering committee, and advising on events like roundtables and heritage months
    • Working with AR/VR Employee Experiences team to communicate events and other people-related comms in the Bay Area
    • Work with Facilities comms to help execute comms strategy for upcoming Bay Area office location strategy
    • Provide general writing and editing support as needed

Required Skills:

  • 4+ years professional experience working in corporate communications, political campaigns, or nonprofit mission-driven communications.
  • Attention to detail and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with managing events end to end, including logistics, messaging, and execution.
  • Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously and to work autonomously.
  • Experience working on a team and communicating to all levels of the organization.
  • Experience writing and turning complex information into relevant, engaging, timely and valuable content.
  • Experience in solving problems using judgement and analysis, providing practical, timely and proactive communications guidance and support.
  • Experience in public relations, journalism, branding and campaigns a plus.
  • Experience communicating to an employee population of technologists and engineers a plus.
  • Experience in the technology industry a plus.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline.
