Job Description:

Large Media and Entertainment client in Glendale, CA is seeking an Assistant Manager, Licensing Hardlines to join their Media Classics and Entertainment team. This is a 6-month opportunity with the possibility of extending. 

The Media, Classics and Entertainment team is responsible for licensing characters and stories created by the brand's networks as well as Classic properties. In addition and liaising with the Company divisions, our retailer and licensing partners, it is responsible for building marketing programs in order to grow licensed product sales and build brand properties and brands.

 

  • The Assistant Manager is responsible for managing several sub-categories and the associated licensee base with the goal of meeting or exceeding predetermined revenue targets and growth objectives across the portfolio of brands.
  • Licensee base will be defined with management
  • Finance and Business Planning:
    • Obtain and review quarterly sales forecast information from licensees in order to build quarterly forecast and budget
    • Responsible for category input within the 5 years strategic plan
    •  Compile and analyze retail sell-through information on owned business’s
  • Brand and Content Management:
    • In conjunction with / support of the Franchise team:
      • Ensure timely approvals of licensee’s marketing elements in D-Room
      • Provide any licensee /product information in support of marketing and brand presentations and sales meetings
  • Category management
    • Identify new business and revenue opportunities
    • In conjunction with Manager, defining category and property strategy
    • Manage day today relationship with licensees
    • Support organizing, pitching and selecting licensees
    • Set-up and lead licensee business review
    • Provide management support in the contract and amendment process
    • Perform all functions of “Contract Owner” for a selection of licensees
  • Product Development:
    • Set-up line review with licensees and Product Development team
    • With the Product Development team approve and maintain line lists
    • With Sales team define and plan product development for retailer exclusive products
    • Liaise with Product Development team to ensure timely approval of products which may include: lead meetings; coordinate programs across all categories; review line lists; respond to product development team in the case of OPA submission changes; execute merchandising plans; public relations and advertising coordination.
    • Liaise with the Packaging team to ensure timely approvals and to ensure product features are communicated effectively.
    • Prepare product presentations included but not limited to internal line reviews
    • Ensure licensee product lines reflect Disney quality and brand/property objectives.
    • Assist licensees with securing of assets to support product development
  • Retail, Sales and Marketing
    • Provide all needed product and licensee information to the sales and marketing to support retail road shows and presentations
    • Liaise with Sales Trade Marketing team to define account promotional and marketing plans and ensure licensee participation
    • With Sales team define and plan product development for retailer exclusive products

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Toys a plus

Required Education:  Bachelor's degree + 4-5 years related experience or MBA with 1-2 years experience
