This career defining, long-term, one year freelance role (with opportunity to extend) as Sr. UX Designer is onsite in NYC (downtown 1 New York Plaza), 40 hours a week, healthcare benefits provided, 401K, 5 paid sick days, more.

What You Will Do:

  • Our award-winning Fortune 500 client is looking for a Senior UX Designer to help enhance their 3-D platform, which is a business application tool by Financial Advisors when servicing their Wealth Management clients. While the general aesthetic of the platform is important, the priority for this role is to make the complicated workflows behind the product offerings hyper intuitive to help ensure that the Financial Advisors are well equipped to bring best services possible(e.g. 401k approvals and financial plans for their clients)  
  • As a Senior UX Designer for this product, you will help design this new offering from the ground up. Under the guidance of the Lead UX Designer, you will strategize and execute the product vision by being heavily involved in the end-to-end product design process
  • Surface the underlying needs and motivation of our clients to ensure we achieve business goals and provide value to our clients and design an intuitive and elegant experience that empowers our clients to make confident financial decisions
  • Work closely with our research team to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data and made value-driven design decisions and translate into clear, simple UIs
  • Create and present a variety of design deliverables (sketches, wireframes, user flows and prototypes) in a way that engenders confidence in you and your solutions with the team and the greater organization
  • Design holistic solutions that integrated seamlessly into our wealth management product ecosystem
  • Design and deliver responsive/adaptive solutions that are optimized for web and mobile interfaces and partner with engineers to translate designs into successful products

What You Need:

  • An outstanding portfolio that demonstrates how you have created experiences that solved business and user needs
  • 5 years’ experience as a UX designer as a key contributor to the success of products that have launched
  • Bachelor's degree in design or related field; master’s degree a plus
  • Fluency in Sketch, Adobe CC and InVision
  • You thrive in a collaborative, explorative environment and value being on a diverse team that you can bounce ideas off of, get critical feedback and unite to mature design thinking in a large organization
  • You practice active listening and contribute in group situations (i.e. brainstorms, audits, critiques, whiteboard sessions, etc.)
  • You have a high tolerance for complex projects with lots of ambiguity and you are resilient in the face of obstacles, a desire to validate assumptions and uncover a problems’ root cause by testing, learning and iterating and you constantly seek opportunities to evangelize and promote design thinking in a large organization
