Job Description:

Large Media and Entertainment team in Burbank, CA is seeking a Writer with expereience delivering news worthy blog content for internal teams, to join their team. This is a 5-month opportunity with the possibility of extending. 

Creative technology team is in need of a Writer to research and create written content for internal websites, publicity for internal events and email communications. They will cover innovative technology and industry trends, requiring technical details as well as assist with covering company-wide, quarterly events. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, be a self starter, ability to multitask, meet deadlines, quickly gain an understanding of our brand and ship great copy and PR.


  • Write and curate daily technology articles to be posted each morning
  • Write long form technical content such as deep dives on emerging technology trends and briefings on events
  • Design and format articles on Wordpress, making sure they are consistent with the branding and with an eye for detail and consistency
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant news and uncover newsworthy technology stories that are relevant to the brand
  • Maintain editorial calendaring and work with Events Manager to set deadlines
  • Collaborate with various team members to create copy for their projects and presentations, including ability to shift priorities quickly and do independent research
  • Create and send out newsletters, flyers and other promotional materials related to the website content and events
  • Proof and edit all copy being produced from graphics to presentations to articles
  • Promote website articles through internal channels
  • Measure KPIs for website and newsletters, compile analytics in weekly report, and lead weekly analytics meetings (in Keynote)
  • Collaborate with graphic designers to create visuals for articles
  • Cultivate a larger community of contributors and edit their work, serving as the person ultimately responsible for all copy.
  • Assist in event planning and production for internal events
  • Support event and web manager with various administrative duties

Required Experience / Skills

  • 1-3 years experience in communications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Discipline to follow deadlines, research and work independently
  • Ability to proof and edit copy to a high standard
  • Deep interest in technology as it relates to media & entertainment
  • Ability to work in Keynote for all presentation decks

Required Education: BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
