Job Description:

AQUENT is seeking a Lead Product / Experience Designer for a FinTech company in Newark, NJ. As Lead Product Designer you’ll work in a multidisciplinary team, alongside researchers, experience designers, product designers and developers, to deliver word-class, human-centered products and services for company’s Customer Office. Your role will be to analyze, plan and map, contextually accurate and valuable experiences that are simple, and intuitive for company’s customers to use.

Not only will you be excited by the challenge of creating new experience opportunities across multiple channels, devices, and platforms, but you will be able to see and own the end-to end journey as well as the detailed outcomes. You will have a deep understanding of digital anthropology, how to design in an fast-paced, high-pressure environment, whilst helping transform company’s end-to-end product and service delivery model.

As Lead Product Designer you will:

▪ Analyze failure within experiences and identify root causes for that failure

▪ Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improvement within an existing service

▪ Understand customer needs and identify where separate interactions should come together as one that meets that need

▪ Arrange these separate interactions into rational customer journeys and experience maps within that service

▪ Look for commonalities in activities across experiences where product opportunities could be realized

▪ Understand the core Human Centered Design framework of an experience and recommend targeted improvements to that framework that accommodates new and improved process refinements

▪ Ability to create and test interactive prototypes in accordance with task, scenario and journey

▪ Identify and design new cross-functional design patterns and standards

▪ Collaborating on designs with developers

▪ Put forward new cases for designs improvements with product managers

▪ Communicate with detailed research and industry backed decisions representing all experience touch-points

▪ Engage and align with all multidisciplinary teams across the customer office business

▪ Run and lead design thinking, and business modeling workshops and activities to drive engagement and


▪ Represent and champion Human Centered Design at a senior leadership level

▪ Play an active part in the design recruitment and selection process


Product Designer Skills and experience:

▪ 8+ years in a service design, research or equivalent experience design role

▪ Combination of agency and corporate environment experience

▪ Mature and seasoned experience with the following

⁃ Card Sorting

⁃ Focus Group

⁃ Anthropology & Ethnography

⁃ User Testing

⁃ Experience Strategy

⁃ Wireframing

⁃ Sketching

⁃ Prototyping

⁃ Workshop Facilitation

⁃ UserFlows

▪ Demonstrable experience of how to interpret qualitative and quantitate research

▪ Demonstrable experience of preplanning user testing best practices and approaches

▪ High level of experience with recognizing complex business challenges

▪ Understand the possibilities and limitations current vs future experience outcomes

▪ Experience running design workshops and planning sessions with multiple business units

▪ Experience working in a fast paced environment

▪ Working collectively and autonomously with cross-functional teams

▪ Solid understanding of Information Architecture, taxonomy, language and content matrixes

▪ A design related degree or relevant experience in designing products and services

▪ Experience working in lean and or agile environments

▪ Experience working with executive teams

▪ Ability to translate reports, outputs and outcomes into compelling written presentations

Desirable that you will have:

▪ Demonstrable experience on how visual form and experience function work together

▪ Experience of assessing front-end and back-end technology integration and enablement

▪ Content Strategy, language, naming and taxonomy structures

▪ Helping colleagues with their career development or coaching more junior designers
