Job Description:

Our healthcare client in Mettawa, IL is looking for an Editor to help support their internal creative services team with editing and proofreading pharmaceutical marketing and healthcare educational materials for clarity, grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency, style, and formatting 

 

Responsibilities to include, but aren't limited to:
• Reviews a broad spectrum of print and digital projects, including sales aids, emails, journal ads, conference materials, and PowerPoint presentations, for a variety of audiences, including medical professional, consumer, and corporate 
• Aligns communications to brand standards as well as corporate style 
• Ensures projects comply with industry/FDA regulations 
• Verifies Medical/Regulatory/Legal feedback has been properly implemented 
• Annotates editorial comments, including content queries, in a clear and concise manner 
• Takes ownership and partners with account, design, and other team members to deliver accurate, targeted work 
• Attends kickoff, status, and other job-related meetings as necessary 
• Creates and maintains style sheets for assigned clients/brands 

 

The ideal candidate has:
• Exceptional medical editing and proofreading skills 
• Ability to produce accurate, error-free work, even under tight deadlines 
• Command of AMA style and referencing standards 
• Familiarity with FDA regulations regarding pharmaceutical marketing 
• Critical thinking skills and ability to identify content issues and less obvious errors 
• Excellent attention to detail, but able to look at a project, or series of projects, holistically 
• Ability to review for both language (spelling, grammar, punctuation, consistency) and design (colors, formatting, spacing, line wraps, etc.) 
• Strong time management, prioritization, organizational, research, and problem-solving skills 
• Approachable demeanor and positive attitude 
• Collaborative, diplomatic communication style 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro annotation tools 
• 3+ years proofreading and editing experience (pharmaceutical/healthcare experience preferred)
