This is a long-term W-2 opportunity, salaried with benefits.  Full-time hours M-F.  Partial Remote options will be considered for candidates who live outside of normal commuting distance. 

Aquent Studios is seeking Senior UX Designers for long-term salaried consultant opportunities with our amazing client in Pekin, Illinois. Our client is a company focused on providing a best in class service for their customers. The role will answer into an Aquent Studios Project Manager.  

The role will sit on-site with our client in Pekin and assist them with an exciting new project working on the front end of a new customer engagement system. Work as part of a team designing at lightning speed and working on the cutting edge of technology, who has in the past won awards for both scope and speed of digital transformation.

 

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a UX Designer or Product Designer working on complex web applications/software (cloud SaaS, enterprise platforms, fintech or insurance). You can design solutions for end-to-end scenarios that involve multiple users and know how to frame and reframe the problem when you get started. You know when and how to use various tools in your toolbox and persuade others about your process. We are looking for thinkers and facilitators who are energized by developing elegant and useful solutions to complex problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze needs/problems and create design solutions that meet measurable business goals and requirements. Help elicit user needs, pain points through research and journey mapping.

  • Work closely with an agile team to investigate, ideate and define solutions, develop user scenarios, user flows, and high-level requirements.

  • Create user-centered designs by considering customer needs, business processes, technical constraints. Validate designs through prototyping and testing.

  • Quickly yet thoroughly create process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction behaviors across a variety of screen sizes.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong problem solving/framing, solution and facilitation skills to help product manager and broader team wrestle through ambiguity

  • Strong knowledge of interaction design, design patterns and best practices for complex mobile and desktop web applications.

  • Adept at performing necessary research to inform design decisions, including interviews, user testing, think-aloud protocols, comparative studies, SUS and heuristic assessments.

  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • A thought-leader, passionate about design and experience

  • Excellent UX and Agile knowledge to help build an iterative, agile team/environment

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional UX experience

  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong end-to-end UX skills, methods and process

  • Work in insurance or banking a huge plus
