Job Description:

Aquent's Client is looking for a Technical Environment Artist artist to join their real time experience team here in Seattle. We are looking for a Technical Environment Artist with experience on assets optimizations on Unity, capable of running profiling test on mobile devices, detect and diagnose bottles necks. This technical artist will work in the forefront between artist and engineers. This is an onsite individual contributor position

Responsibilities:

  • Help artists with everyday blocking issues with content tools and workflow
  • Manage technical pipelines related to level production (i.e. source file management/streaming/visibility/collision/physics materials/lighting setup)
  • Take an active role in a highly collaborative workplace. Work closely with other teams to take on technical challenges
  • Work with other technical artists to establish and monitor best practices, budgets, and performance
  • Ensure content is meeting memory budgets and performance targetstools.

Skills and Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in either the game or film industries in either Artist or Technical Artist roles
  • Experience with one or more commercial game engines (e.g. Unreal or Unity)
  • Strong communication skills for working across multiple disciplines
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Task driven, self-motivated, proactive & works well under deadlines
  • Generalist knowledge in skills such as modeling, texturing, lighting, animation, physics and particle systems
  • Expertise with at least one of the leading 3D applications (e.g. Maya, 3ds Max, Softimage, Houdini, MotionBuilder) as well as experience with leading image manipulation tools (e.g. Photoshop, After Effects or Nuke)
  • Experience profiling on Unity. (Experience profiling on mobile is a plus )

 

Bonus:

  • C# scripting programming
  • GLSL/HLSL Shading programming
  • Understand CPU/GPU frame composition
  • Understanding of dynamic batching on Unity
  • Additional knowledge of rendering pipelines/content optimization
  • VR specific performance optimization techniques like: pose prediction, timewarp, etc
  • Experience optimizing for mobile (Android/iOS)
