Job Description:

Aquent is supporting a global luxury beauty brand in their search for a Visual Merchandiser! This is a long-term FT Freelance role based in NYC with subsidized health benefits.

The Visual Merchandiser will support the overall VM communications calendar, logistics, and process. This VM will be a part of a dynamic, creative environment where you will support the brand's visual merchandising initiatives are executed. The position reports to the Director of Visual Merchandising. They would be responsible for all operational deliverables in the merchandising timeline and for streamlining communication and processes throughout the development process. This would include, but would not be limited to, the following roles and responsibilities: 

  • Support development of VM guidelines for all retail partners 
  • Manage communications and requests from the field, fulfilling all requests 
  • Update merchandising guides, check lists, floor plans and schematics for retail channels 
  • Maintain and organize sourced VM elements inventory, placing orders as needed 
  • Help build prelim mockups of new concept design models and story boards as needed 
  • Work with the creative team to ensure on-time delivery of VM related creative assets 
  • Ensure in-store execution is on brand for NYC flagship stores on a monthly basis 
  • Support Director’s Sales training & education – ongoing field training 
  • Keep track of VM budget and invoices 

Ideal Experience

  • 2-4 years of Visual Merchandising experience: Specialty and Department store retailer experience preferred 
  • Strong technical, communication and visual merchandising background
  • Results oriented and action driven. Ability to take initiative, ownership and accountability 
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize 
  • Bachelor degree, preferably in Visual Design, Merchandising, Fine Arts or Interior Design 
  • Computer Skills - Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch up, InDesign, Excel and Microsoft office/ PowerPoint 
  • High level of Creativity (must be able to communicate, sketch, etc.) -- the role will not concept designs, but should be able to tweak them and create presentations
  • Strong Presentation skills
