Seeking a Public Affairs Specialist to join a major healthcare client for a 4 month+ contract opportunity in Oakland. Ideal candidate background: Formal communications experience, Experience in these settings: Public relations/public policy exp, Government, Non-profit experience, Any organization existing in the political space, Work will consist of creating content/digital assets targeting government officials. Bachelors Degree required!
This person will join our client's Public Advocacy team working on a wide variety of projects. We’re looking for team players, creative thinkers, and strong writers who can help communicate complex health policy topics to both internal and external audiences. This role will be responsible for tasks such as coordinating and editing high-level policy newsletters developed for senior leadership, monitoring health policy news and drafting daily digests, supporting issue-based campaigns and grassroots advocacy, building web and social media strategy, and crafting written collateral such as blogs, one-pagers, fact sheets, issue briefings, and other strategic policy assets.
We’re looking for a candidate who is flexible, collaborative, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and is excited to support the client's mission. This temporary position could be a great first step for recent communications, public policy, or public health graduates seeking learning opportunities. The position will be initially set for six months with the possibility of extension.
