Job Description:

This is a several month long, on-site engagement with our client, a local automated data aggregation, accounting and reporting firm specializing in investment portfolios. The main focus of the role is assisting in writing, editing, and validating software life cycle documentation. Final documents will need to meet strict industry regulations.


  • Software life cycle documentation, to include some or all of the following: requirements analysis, design, construction, testing, installation, operation, and maintenance
  • Work on complex content development and improvement projects that require exceptional writing, troubleshooting, collaboration, and work management skills—often with minimal supervision
  • Help create a scale-able set of business and/or technical docs which can be re-purposed as needed 
  • Possibly research and gather technical and background information for inclusion in deliverables. This may include consulting relevant information sources, including library resources, technical an information sources, including library resources, technical and financial documents, and client and project personnel, to obtain and verify pertinent guidelines and regulations which govern project deliverables


  • Experience with software (or hardware) life cycle documentation
  • Experience with MS Works is required. Experience with Visio is a plus
  • Experience in Agile environment is a plus 
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of relevant style guides
  • Proactively contributes to project status and timeline reports, and work scope or process changes
  • Takes ownership of all interim and final deliveries, final deliveries, such as making sure deliverables conform to set standards 
  • Proven collaborative skills in a virtual and in-office writing team environment
