Aquent is seeking a long-term, freelance Search Engine Optimization Manager for our innovative, global financial services client. This role in onsite in NYC, mid-town west side, 40 hours a week.

Length: 6 month rolling contract + healthcare benefits provided, 5 paid sick days, 401k.

SEO Manager Responsibilities:

  • Increase organic traffic to the corporate website, with a particular focus on target audiences and relevant search intent--as well as help grow a culture of SEO at the firm.

  • Work with internal stakeholders (from content marketers to product marketers to technology to UX) and external partners (agency and vendors) to optimize existing content

  • Develop recommendations for new content to meet search demand.

  • Optimize existing and new content and landing pages for search engine optimization, by performing ongoing keyword research and working with agency and tools

  • Manage the approvals (business unit, compliance, etc.) and execution for on-page optimizations including metadata, target keywords, internal linking, etc.

  • Track analytics (SERP rankings, SEO traffic, competitors), create monthly and quarterly SEO reports

  • Develop and execute projects aimed at improving SEO hygiene (fixing broken links, adding missing metadata, etc.)

  • Consult with internal clients on SEO effectiveness, and work with front- and back-end dev teams to make technical changes that will help improve organic exposure

  • Support teams with whitespace analysis for new content creation to drive organic search traffic

  • Prioritize special projects (link building, answer boxes, local search, etc.) based on performance potential and audience

SEO Manager Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a performance-driven technical professional who also understands the

importance of brand -- someone who knows the ideal character count for a page title and can also craft a clicky meta-description.

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in an SEO role, client side or agency; must come from a digital centric organization

  • Understanding of what factors drive success in SEO in 2019

  • Professional acumen is a must, client interfacing skills also required

  • Strong PowerPoint skills and strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Sense of humor is a plus

  • 4 year college degree

  • Experience with analytics as they relate to SEO, Adobe Analytics experience desired; experience with

  • SEO tools, e.g. Google Webmaster Tools and Bright Edge preferred
