Our Leading Consumer Packaged Goods Client is looking for a Senior Design Manager – Brand and Package Design!

We are an internal design team of approximately 20+ bad-ass designers, production experts, and project 
managers, that are responsible for Brand Development, Design Strategy and Package Design. We believe whole-heartedly, that 
the success of our brands is largely dependent on the fantastic work our team does, and we’re looking 
for an incredibly creative Senior Design Manager that will blow us away with us your bad-ass skills! 

Position Overview 
The Senior Design Manager position is a leadership and creative role, with specific aptitude for creating 
a design vision and confident purposeful packaging design solutions. Must be a business savvy, strategic
and experienced design leader, with a passion for design excellence and strategic problem solving. The
SDM is the design expert and trusted consultant for brand teams, (someone they can’t live without) and 
provides vision, guidance and consistent design leadership to create business building design solutions 
for brands. The successful DM exhibits strengths and is a key contributor in five areas: 

• Strategic business partner 
o Sits on the leadership team(s) of the brands and businesses he/she supports and actively 
participates in business planning 
o Anticipates competitive activities, based on a deep and ongoing understanding of competitive 
• Design vision strategy, and creative guidance 
o Leads all visual positioning, portfolio architecture, and design development with an 
understanding of the standards for successful in-market design solutions 
o Creates “purposeful design” that focuses on what design does rather than what 
it looks like 
o Builds, motivates, and guides creative teams and/or creative agencies 
o Persuasively presents, actively provides rationale, and effectively recommends problem solving 
design solutions 
• Problem solver and problem seeker 
o Clearly understands current business problems and solves through purposeful design solutions 
o Looks for problems rather than avoiding them to avoid missed opportunity 
o Ability to identify competitor weaknesses that can be leveraged 
• Expert in understanding and applying evolving design and communication trends 
o Actively pursues design trends and in-market design changes 
o Uses in market experiences to develop creative strategies and solutions 
o Shares insights and opportunities to the broader population 
• Strong consumer advocate 
o Strong understanding in translating consumer input into purposeful design 
o Proactively seeks ways to stay current with consumer trends, interests and societal shifts 

Required Skills: 
• 8-10 years packaging design experience - food and beverage packaging experience is preferred, 
though not required 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or comparable is preferred 
• Packaging and production expert 
• Natural collaborator – with all external partners and internal functional team 
• Clear and persuasive written and verbal communication skills 
• Self-motivated 
• Accountable for effectiveness of the work created 
• Leads by example 
• Confidently challenges conventional practices
