Job Description:

AQUENT is seeking a Product / Service Designer for a client in San Francisco. As a Product / Service Designer, having a human-centered approach to design and advocating for user needs is vital. If you are curious and demonstrate a passion for learning this could be a great role for you. Product / Service Designers on this team are capable of generating ideas and prototyping concepts that are anchored in research insights, subject knowledge, technology requirements, and business goals. They have an exuberant passion for the power of strategic design and an “anything is possible” mindset. Sounds like you? 

As the Product / Service Designer, you will not be limited to just working on digital experiences (web applications, mobile apps, digital interfaces, etc.) but you will also dabble into artificial intelligence. The services and processes here can be complex, so we need highly qualified designers who enjoy serious problem solving! 

Skills needed to be successful as the Product / Service Designer: 

  • At least 5 years of experience with UI/UX design
  • At least 4 years of Service design 
  • End to end product / service designer experience comfortable as a researcher, data scientist, strategist, and designer executing, synthesizing and formulating plan
  • Expertise within standard digital design tools (e.g. Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Omnigraffle, Balsamiq, Axure, etc.)
  • At least 3 years of experience designing digital products or at least 3 years of experience designing omni-channel services
  • Experience working with Agile and Lean product development teams
  • Service design thinking 
  • Preferred skills: 7+ years of experience design 

In this role, you will:

  • A typical day might include facilitating a workshop to integrate Lean UX into a project, reviewing features with a project team, working on interaction design or conducting research with a customer
  • Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, developers and design teams on research activities, strategy sessions, ideation, design, and testing of new product concepts
  • Build empathy and be an advocate for our customers through participation in human-centered research and design
  • Translate user needs, style guides, and requirements into elegant solutions for complex problems
  •  Leverage analytics tools to measure success, present opportunities, and support decision-making
  • Utilize Lean and Agile methodologies
  • Present research findings and design concepts to designers and product partners
  • Be a leader and mentor; you’ll challenge, grow and mentor designers and contribute to fostering a collaborative team spirit
  • Make recommendations for forward-learning changes to be made to improve this conversational experience
  • Take research findings and translate them into definitive, actionable changes to contribute into process design work
