Seeking a strong Graphic Production Designer to join with a Fortune 500 Apparel brand in Richmond, CA!
General Position Summary:
Provide graphic production and design for projects that support all Marketing disciplines, with a heavy emphasis on digital and ecommerce design. Work with the production team to process and finalize all projects.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Implement the production of design concepts for two & three-dimensional graphic applications for marketing related materials while meeting timelines and upholding department standards for accuracy and attention to detail and deadlines.
Work collaboratively with the Global Brand Design and Production Artists for assigned projects.
Participate in team meetings and staff meetings to share projects and process. Maintain positive open lines of communication with all, staff and other departments in order to contribute to the smooth flow of information and efficient operation of the organization.
Maintain design production knowledge and expertise as it relates to the Marketing group.
Provide direct support for team members as needed and back-up support to Global Brand Communication department as needed.
Work includes, but not limited to the following materials: Website, Social Media, Digital Banners, Social Ads, Catalogs, Hangtags, Packaging, POP, Retail Signage, Advertising, Promotional Events, Presentations, Environmental Signage, Trade shows.
Contacts are made with others both inside and outside the company and concern the exchange of information and problem solving. Internal contacts include members from various departments such as Product Design and Development, Footwear, Sales, Retail, Planning, International, Information Systems and Marketing. Contacts always include confidential or sensitive information, with about 10% being by phone and the remainder via email or face to face interaction.
Specific Job Skills:
Possess knowledge of the Design and Production process and the procedures associated with completing the process. Demonstrate a solid understanding of industry and market requirements. Must have excellent Macintosh computer skills including expertise in in Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Keynote and PowerPoint. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Must have advanced organizational skills, the ability to prioritize projects, and superior attention to detail. Possess basic hands on graphic skills such as drawing, cutting, measuring, along with excellent page layout and typography skills and ability to demonstrate skill in drawing and illustrating concepts. Must have excellent eyesight free from any color impairment.
Demonstrate high levels of creativity, problem solving, job knowledge, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with the ability to lead by example and inspire team members. Interact with coworkers in a professional manner that supports the department and promotes a positive work environment. Communicate clearly with staff, management, vendors, customer, and clients this includes adapting to be effective with a multitude of personalities and circumstances. Act as a resource for established procedures and take a proactive approach in meeting deadlines and in understanding job requirements.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field and a minimum of 6 to 8 years experience performing graphic production for printing, utilizing digital graphic design equipment and computers or equivalent experience required. Exposure to the outdoor industry or related work preferred.
Occasionally required to work in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week during peak season or rush projects. Must be physically able to sit for extended periods in addition to bending, stooping, kneeling, or lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs.
