Job Description:

Our large financial services client location in Merrimack NH is seeking a UX Designer for a long term contract assignment.


The UX Designer will join the team under the direction of the UX Director. Tasked with helping establish a north star for a great customer experience, you will be collaborating closely with a cross-functional team to understand & interpret the needs of the user while balancing the needs of the business and technology. To depict how the user experience could come to life, you’ll partner with the UX Director to define the high-level flows and architect the detailed interactions (and everything in between). Strong empathy paired with the analytical and creative ability to translate business, user and technology needs into is a must. 


User experience briefs 

UX guiding principles for the initiatives 

Concept sketches, wireframes, flow diagrams, sitemaps 

Scenarios, user profiles and use cases 

Interaction designs and specifications 

Leadership of collaborative design sessions 


Creativity, imagination and a sense of humor 

Exceptional empathizer, story-teller and collaborator (especially with cross-functional teams) 

Exceptional communicator 

Client management “soft skills” 

Process-driven, but not process-dogmatic 

Strong presentation and negotiation skills 

Ability to understand customer needs, motivations and behaviors and translate them into engaging digital experiences 

Ability to create low-fidelity prototypes 

Ability to communicate visually (i.e. sketching high-level concepts, and drawing on the fly to articulate and validate ideas with internal project partners) 

The ability to quickly understand the larger context in which the project is happening is a must 

Discipline to move high-level strategic concept designs through to detailed designs. 

Ability to design a solution that finds a harmonious balance between technical feasibility and the best in customer experience 

Ability to communicate and demonstrate the value and rationale of design decisions to business and technology partners 

Self-directed with highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines 




3+ years experience as an information architect, interaction designer, experience designer or a similar role 

Demonstration of past success instilling and protecting a collaborative environment, leading designers within the context of a cross-functional team, and reaching consensus within a diverse culture and fast-paced work flow is a must 

Experience with Agile methodologies 

Experience with participatory design (e.g. Design Thinking) a plus 

Experience designing interactions that help people engage with complex subject matter and overcome inertia a plus
