Job Description:

Procurement Professionals - A Fortune 500 fintech operation in San Mateo is looking for an experienced Project Manager to drive execution of a plan to improve vendor onboarding. This initiative is comprised of multiple, concurrent work streams, each owned by different business stakeholders. The ideal candidate is someone with a passion for both planning and detailed execution, who can work effectively as a leader, individual contributor and team member and drive project results. They will have a proven track record of managing complex initiatives, be self-motivated, highly organized and foster positive internal and external relationships.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage multiple complex programs and projects for vendor onboarding inatiave

  • Partner with key cross-functional stakeholders to drive all aspects of complex initiatives, including scope definition, developing project plans, managing dependencies, personally executing with a high degree of accuracy, keeping supporting groups on task, and producing status and other documentation for presentation to senior management to ensure progress and completion.

  • Proactively identify and anticipate barriers and escalate in a timely manner when deliverables or deadlines are in jeopardy. Assertively and creatively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent programs from delivering against project objectives.

 

Skills

  • Strong process orientation and demonstrated knowledge of organizational, planning and analytical skills, including project scheduling, estimating, risk identification, change management, and best practices.

  • Ability to influence effectively without direct management authority; experience managing conflict to achieve project goals.

  • Strong organization skills; ability to multi-task; show initiative and work aggressively to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently, yet seamlessly integrate activities with other teams when needed.

  • Experience engaging, negotiating with and managing vendors and the procure to pay process/sourcing.

  • Demonstrated understanding of corporate protocol, maintains a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
