Job Description:

We are looking for a self-motivated, creative, out-of-the box user experience designer with strong design thinking skills with technical chops geared towards solving customer experience pain points. Typical responsibilities to include customer journey mapping, quantitative data analysis, qualitative user group validation, end state design (visual mockups), low fidelity concepting (wireframing), information architecture (taxonomy & database structures), interaction design (user flows), and a functional knowledge of scripting languages (JS) and data models (JSON) in order to support high fidelity prototyping and functional development. 

Job Description 
Defines and designs the front end user experience for Kohler consumer facing websites and Mobile apps. Responsible for the enhancements, updates, and conversion implementation to a responsive website design. Works cross-functionally to understand business and user goals. Creates appealing designs, wire frames, and interactive experiences that complement the Kohler brand standards. 
• Develop front-end user interfaces for Web-based or other software products, including mobile and web console devices. 
• Collaborate with back-end development, visual design, product management, and customers. 
• Code behaviors and functionality for current and future software applications using design specifications. 
• May assist with new user interface testing and participate in usability reviews. 
• Remain current on user interface trends and programming techniques and suggest new tools and methods as necessary.
• May be responsible for usability research and design in absence of dedicated usability team members. 
• Career-Level position within field. 
• Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline. 
• Conducts complex work important to the organization. 
• Works under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment. 

REQUIREMENTS: 
• 3-5 years of web design and/or development experience. 
• Certification on usability and ADA standards preferred. 
• High proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Excel, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. 
• Demonstrated proficiency with website CMS and similar administrative software systems used to manage our online products and campaigns. 
• Experience using Google products such as analytics, web master, tag manager and ad words (or Coremetrics / Omniture / WebTrends equivalents). 
• Successful experience implementing SEO and SEM strategies. 
• Strong consulting skills with thorough attention to detail. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills and the ability to work independently. 
• Bachelor’s degree or certification in related field of study. 
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (ie. Human-Computer Interaction, information design, communications, Computer Systems, etc.) 
• Must have at least 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design Proficiency using UX and prototyping tools (Axure, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, InVision, Proto.io, etc.) 
• Experience with WCAG accessibility standards 
• Proven effectiveness in working as a member in cross-functional teams which include business analysts, designers, researchers, developers, and product owners Experience with Agile and/or lean philosophy and methods 
• Design experience for both web and mobile (iOS and Android) 
• Ability to create wireframes as well as visual design comps 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities: 

• Collaborate internally to understand and verify business, functionality and technical requirements needed to support the development of web solutions. 
• Build responsive design webpages using current standards, including cross browser styling and optimization. 
• Utilize current front end technologies (HTML5, CSS and Javascript) to complete digital projects. 
• Manage and maintain databases for marketing segments, online active users and transactional activity. 
• Leverage online analytics to investigate existing customer behaviors and recommend opportunities for enhancing these digital experiences. 
• Present complex information in a clear and easily understood manner to internal audiences. 
• Oversees and executes project management for assigned digital initiatives. 
• Continue to learn and grow knowledge to keep up with the pace of change and make recommendations to achieve best in class member experience. 
• Create sketches, prototypes, wireframes, screen-flow diagrams & UI specs for testing and development Rapidly iterate on design prototypes and working applications 
• Thoughtfully articulate design decisions and rationale; design direction should be based on the overall product roadmap as well as your own design thinking and fundamental principles 
• Collect and utilize qualitative and quantitative data from usability tests and business analytics to make value-driven design decisions 
• Provide design support during development and execution 
• Assist with QA to ensure designs are implemented accurately and with the highest standard 
• Assist with validating and measuring user experience success via usability testing and post deployment evaluations
