Project Manager (Business)
Bachelor's degree required plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a program/project manager in business corporate functions, operations, or IT, or an MBA with a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a program/project manager in business corporate functions, operations, or IT. Extensive program or project management experience required, involving complex, cross-divisional stakeholders. 3+ years of airline experience strongly preferred. Demonstrates initiative and self-directs work. Must have strong organizational and planning skills. Highly proficient PC skills including advanced level knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Visio are required.
Responsibilities: The Omnichannel PMO Project Leader will execute strategic Digital Transformation projects within Global Distribution & Digital Strategy business team and across the broaderorganization. This position will be responsible for the development of the project plan, potentially evaluating new technologies and vendors for strategic and operational fit as well as, partnership development, change management and implementation planning. This is accomplished through close partnership with other Global Distribution & Digital Strategy business team members, including the Digital and Direct, Merchandising, Distribution, and Reservations teams, as well as other cross-divisional business units like Loyalty, Marketing, ACS, Sales, and Product Development as well as IT. This role will also be responsible for building and sustaining relationships with other business teams and ensuring effective horizontal integration. Oversees ongoing programs/projects and performs project management activities. Responsibilities include: forecasting, managing, tracking, and reporting project progress; scoping changes to achieve successful, on-time and within budget project completion; managing and coordinating communications across multiple business units and partners (internal and external). Some travel may be required. Primary Functions: • Solution-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to multi-task capable work well with others in a fast-paced time-sensitive environment • Works to identify interdependencies from other departments, division, suppliers, and resources to meet the project plan; creates visibility to dependencies across all project stakeholders • Communicates user stories, solution designs, estimates, and identified risks to project sponsors for their awareness and approval • Escalates issues to ensure awareness and assistance with resolution as well as facilitates resolution of issues as necessary • Leads presentations clearly and succinctly in a variety of settings and styles to both internal and external leaders, executives, and industry executives • Develops project plans and tracks program progress • Provide regular updates to stakeholders, sponsors, and others involved in the project • Visualizes opportunities for synergy and integration between processes and projects (business processes, other projects, IT, change management, etc.) • Works independently and with cross-divisional teams to develop initial plans to clearly define both small and large, complex project user stories and identify an appropriate solution design • Works closely with Digital, Omnichannel analytics and reporting teams to track project impact on performance, ensures adherence to established project methodologies and standards • Builds business cases to appropriately influence the "go/no go" decisions around project risks • Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
