Job Description/Responsibilities: Our Client is looking for a UX Designer for our “Stitch” Design System team which delivers web and native iOS atomic elements for product teams across our organization, supporting all our brands. The team translates brand style guides and UX-defined components to re-usable assets in the form of Sketch libraries and re-usable code then documents it for all subscribers on our internal Design System site.
Describe the project they will be working on: Design Systems
Size of the Team: 7 in Design Systems, 25 in UX functional group
What are the Top 3-5 Skills needed to perform this role/job?: visual design, documentation, spec’ing, prototyping, site design
Additional Desired Skills: a. Design system experience b. Product design c. Front end development, or working knowledge of web or OiS d. Knowledge of existing design systems such as those created by Google, Walmart, Intuit, SalesForce, Ebay, Yahoo. • Type of background you are looking for (education, # yrs experience, etc.): o Minimum of 5 years of professional UX Visual Design experience o Strong Visual Design and skills, demonstrable experience with User Experience design specifically. • Software skills required: Expert in Sketch, Invision and prototyping tools such as, Axure, Flinto, or Principal
Any traits that would make a candidate NOT a good fit for the role/what you DON’T want to see on resume?: marketing or graphic designer. this is not for advertising, need someone who has experience as a UX Visual Designer
What does a typical day look like for this contractor?: meet with team at standup, share progress over the last day. Review work in development, meet with interaction designer to discuss current priorities and plan. Sit down and focus on design deliverables. Prepare design files to walk through with the cross-functional team or UX directors for feedback or approval.
