Job Description:

Our pharmaceutical client is hiring for a Senior Editor to work in their internal ad agency.  

• Edits and proofreads pharmaceutical marketing and healthcare educational materials for sense, clarity, 
grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency, style, and formatting 
• Reviews projects to ensure alignment with respective brand standards as well as corporate style 
• Ensures projects comply with applicable industry and FDA regulations; verifies Medical/Regulatory/Legal 
feedback has been properly implemented 
• Notates and communicates any edits and content issues in a clear and concise manner; works either 
independently or with team members to solve issues 
• Provides editorial leadership for assigned accounts, takes ownership of work, and oversees projects from 
concept to completion 
• Partners with account, design, and other brand team members to deliver accurate, targeted work 
• Attends kickoff, status, and other job-related meetings as necessary 
• Acts as a proactive department leader and helps shape editorial culture/process 
and mentor junior editing colleagues 
• Creates and maintains agency style guidelines and other educational and reference materials 
• Continually evaluates current procedures and systems and identifies opportunities to 
increase efficiency and effectiveness 

The ideal candidate has: 
• Ability to work across a broad spectrum of media types, including print, digital, convention materials, 
comprehensive PowerPoint presentations, journal ads, etc., targeted toward a variety of audiences, 
including medical professional, consumer, and corporate 
• Exceptional medical editing skills, including substantive editing, fact checking, researching, 
and referencing 
• Familiarity with FDA regulations regarding promotional copy of prescription drugs 
• Excellent attention to detail, but able to look at a project, or series of projects, holistically 
• Ability to review for both language (spelling, grammar, consistency) and design (colors, formatting, 
spacing, line wraps, etc.) 
• Command of AMA style 
• Strong time management, prioritization, organizational, research, and problem-solving skills 
• Approachable demeanor; positive attitude; collaborative; diplomatic communication style 
• Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat tools to annotate copyediting comments 
• 5+ years pharmaceutical/healthcare advertising editing experience (preferred) 

Additional Info: 
Pharma Advertising Experience strongly preferred 
Strong Editing and Proofreading skills required 
Must have strong communication 
Must have ability to problem solve 
Must be able to work in fast paced environment 
Must be able to adapt to changing priorities easily 
This person will be taking on their own client meetings and managing their own brands
