Job Description:

Motion Graphic Artist/Animator will work with The Design Studio to produce a range of marketing and presentation related videos for a diverse client base. This position is a full-time role (M-F, 9:00-5:30) within a corporate office setting.

Looking for someone who is  comfortable managing/balancing creative direction and feedback being provided by a wide range of team members including graphic designers, copywriters, creative directors and the client. There may be instances where you start a project that someone else or an external vendor finishes. In addition, you will be required to execute designs and storyboards developed by graphic designers – often not the candidates own creative vision.

Ideally this would be someone with a strong grasp of graphic design principles and has a proven track record of applying those skills in the creation of dynamic video for both B2C and B2B clients. Day to day, the candidate’s primary focus will be assembling/editing footage and generating graphics, but the candidate should also be able to support the full lifecycle of a video production project – from concept outline, to storyboards through the final edit including audio mixing and color correction. The candidate should also be comfortable creating graphics such as generating lower thirds, typography animations and basic copy/titles as well as adapting and animating provided static/print designs. The candidate should be comfortable in a corporate team environment, working with and utilizing the skill sets of our other full time graphic designers, creative directors and copy writers. Attitude and creative vision should out way years of experience. Cinematography and 3D/Character animation would be a plus but not an immediate need. 

Job Summary:

Advanced knowledge of animation and editing techniques required:  Non-linear/live action editing, compositing, motion graphics, motion tracking, color correction, video codecs and audio mixing. A good sense of composition, type layout and the ability to convert and animate static designs is also required. Character animation and 3D experience is a plus.  

Skills and Experience: 

Expertise in video editing applications (Adobe Premiere and After Effects)

Expertise in video animation applications (After Effects, Animator, various plug ins)

Proficient in Adobe CS suite of products, including Photoshop and Illustrator 
Knowledge of various video and audio formats, technologies, video compression, delivery requirements, video capture and encoding
Editing videos into strong, narrative short pieces for web posting 
Comfortable adapting and utilizing purchased templates and plug ins
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills. 
Execute projects within defined timeline and within a fast paced environment. 
Ability to multi-task; work on several projects at once. 
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well with others and receive feedback in a collaborative environment 
Proficient in using the Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
Good verbal and writing skills. 

Essential Functions: 

Produce TV commercials, presentation support material and internet video content in a timely manner. 
Coordinates/collaborates with Account Coordinators, Graphic Designers, Copywriters and Creative Directors on the creative look 
Search, collect and log assets needed for commercial/video production (images, logos, videos, music). 
Live action video editing 
Basic video compositing 
Motion graphics design 
Motion graphics animation 
Basic audio production (mix voice over, music, and sound effects) 
Commercial proofing for content accuracy 
Deliver commercials to Traffic Manager and Production Manager for upload 
Basic video encoding (convert .mov files to .mp4s, etc.) 
Status updates and periodic attendance at meetings. 

Educational Requirements & Qualifications: 
degree in related field (film, animation, visual effects, and multimedia production); certificate or equivalent work experience. Must be proficient with: After Effects, Premier/Final Cut, Photoshop, Audition, Mac OSX operating system; Agency experience a plus; Positive attitude; Time management skills; Organizational skills; Proactive; Open to constructive criticism; Good communication skills.
