Position Summary:

The Associate Manager, Marketing - is responsible for project managing the development of marketing campaigns and assets that support the overall vision of the services while supporting business objectives, financial goals and maintaining high standards of excellence.

This individual will support all aspects of creative planning, development and execution of assigned projects, including managing schedules and timelines for multiple initiatives, working with the internal creative department as well as outside agencies. This will require collaboration with aviation and marine project owners to refine and capture briefs to ensure alignment with program objectives and target timing.

The Associate Manager, Marketing will support internal and partner activities via detailed project timelines, issue resolution, and approvals/submissions using internal systems. Company partners include manufacturers of boats & planes and marine & aviation navigation display systems/receivers, as well as software & mobile application developers, and retailers/dealers.

The successful candidate will leverage proven marketing, creative development and project management experience and expertise to ensure robust, reliable support for on-going initiatives and new programs. This individual must exhibit excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to ensure successful implementation of marketing initiatives in order to build the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage creative development of assigned marketing initiatives from inception to completion.

  • Effectively manage the project workload with internal and external agencies based on direction from Senor Marketing Director, including assigning work, driving the development of schedules and following up to ensure deadlines are met while communicating regularly and proactively with project owners.

  • Review all content and design to ensure that completed projects conform to the company's brand and service identity standards as well as department quality guidelines.

  • Meet directly with project owners to initiate jobs, provide timelines and refine creative briefs.

  • Manage relationship and oversee creative projects with internal graphics team and multiple outside agencies/vendors from concept to completion, including managing costs.

  • Troubleshoot project issues and resolve conflicts to ensure that the jobs produced by the department represent the highest quality and are delivered on time.

  • Develop detailed project plans and timelines, then facilitate, track, and proactively report progress for internal projects as well as initiatives requiring collaboration with external partners.

  • Maintain creative development budget for assigned projects, handle project estimates, PO requests and invoice submissions as needed.

  • Demonstrate flexibility to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.

  • Build trust by valuing others, communicating effectively, collaborating well with others, successfully driving execution, solving problems creatively and exhibiting unquestioned integrity.

  • Gain input from operational, program management, customer care, technical, and other cross-functional teams as needed.  

  • Identify potential issues and pursue timely resolution to avoid or minimize negative impact.

  • Involve and update internal leadership as appropriate to ensure forward progress on projects, and escalate issues as needed for resolution.

  • Quickly develop expertise with internal systems needed for project management, including promotion and contract approvals.

  • Gain a clear understanding of partner product lineups, services, and competitive positioning across their respective markets.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or equivalent, relevant experience

  • 2-3 years of experience in creative or marketing roles at an agency or client organization.

Requirements and General Skills:

  • Personal or professional experience in the boating or aviation industries a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with key contacts across functions internally and at partner organizations.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven ability to operate at the detail level to ensure successful planning and launch of initiatives.

  • Exhibits creativity, internal motivation, and patient determination in meeting challenges.

  • Clear communication skills -- verbally, in writing, and in presentations -- able to distill complex projects and convey key messages concisely.

  • Listens well -- not only in meetings, but also open to coaching for professional development.

  • Quick learner who successfully sorts information by urgent vs. less time-sensitive and strategic vs. tactical.

  • Collaborates well in a team environment and takes strong internal ownership for team success.

  • Excellent project and time management skills with the ability follow through on key details when handling multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

  • Must have the legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:

  • Previous experience with photography, art direction, video production, digital asset creation and print production.

  • Basic understanding of creative software (Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop).

  • Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
