Job Description:

This Sr. Designer position can sit in either Cleveland, OH, McLean, VA or Philadelphia, PA

Produces creative, comprehensive layout and high-level design for deliverables requiring powerful conceptualization of ideas in preparation of original art for print and electronic media. Continuously enhances design skills and knowledge of design, brand standards and production techniques. Offers multifaceted complex conceptual design and production solutions based on strategies in relation to business needs. Effectively manages and oversees complex design projects from concept through production and delivery, effectively prioritizes to balance multiple priorities simultaneously, establishes timelines and estimates and identifies key resources to exceed customer expectations and deadlines. Performs as mentor and knowledgeable resource for CSG staff and customers. Serves as Creative Services Group (CSG) project manager and works effectively in a team environment.

  • Ability to conceptualize the strategic direction of the professional services industry to provide creative, professional and functional deliverables to align with business needs
  • Develops high-level concepts, designs and innovative ideas for packaging design for print and electronic deliverables within the  brand
  • Teams with multimedia staff to provide structure, visual comps and basic programming for creation of multimedia presentations, web design banners and on-screen presentations
  • Maintains proficient skill sets with graphic software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Highly experienced in firm standard loadset (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrates superior knowledge in construction of files utilizing master pages and style sheets to complete assignments
  • Develops leading practices utilizing state-of-the-art techniques, equipment and advancements within the design community
  • Creatively produces interactive presentations or proposals using a variety of software and delivery methods
  • Mentors CSG staff in the use of brand standards, design principles, software, processes and knowledge of the design industry
  • Assists in establishing vendor lists, develops and maintains vendor relationships and teams with vendors regarding the production and delivery for products and services
  • ​Facilitates project meetings and discussions relating to appropriate graphic methods/techniques to meet project requirements
  • ​Educates and influences customers to choose effective and functional designs and deliverables within budget
  • Has superior knowledge in use of firm brand and raises awareness in support of the brand and leverages that knowledge for projects
  • ​Cross-trains in additional CSG functions to provide flexibility
  • ​Acts as a project manager; communicates and negotiates project deadlines, project scope, cost estimates and schedule changes as necessary
  • Understands and strictly adheres to the  quality standards and procedures, including CSG standards and guidelines
  • ​Utilizes the CSGcom database to make certain all time and materials are billed correctly and project instructions and customer interactions are fully documented
  • ​Excels in developing team momentum through being a great team member and/or team leader, promoting and sharing leading practices with ESS/CSG staff
  • ​Evaluates conflicting requirements of multiple customers and accurately assesses project requirements, identifies issues, makes decisions and provides solutions
  • Thinks strategically to relate design work to the end user as well as the customers business needs 
  • Identifies, resolves and overcomes obstacles/problems; breaks problems down into manageable parts, applying intermediate problem-solving techniques
  • Contributes input to decision-making on a project-by-project basis; accepts decisions and follows through

  • ​Advanced technical understanding of print production, both in-house and with external vendors

  • ​Knowledge of Flash and Dreamweaver
  • ​Ability to sell designs based on the appropriate solution, time and budget requirements
  • Advanced expertise with graphics software tools, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Flash, Dreamweaver, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting technical issues in graphic files for pre-press, printing, web and onscreen viewing
  •  Linking graphics, including fonts and creating color separations
  • ​Exceptional knowledge of typography and appropriate use of brand colors, images and fonts, allowing for effective legibility and functionality
  • ​Proficiency in firm-standard loadset including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and equipment required of the position
  • Overtime required as necessary, often on a last-minute basis
  • May be required to work off-site as part of a project team providing design and conceptualization 


  • Bachelors degree in Graphic Design or related discipline
