We are seeking a Business Analyst for our client in the energy industry. This is a long term contract opportunity.
Industry standard practices, processes and artifacts (e.g. requirements analysis and documentation, solution assessment and validation techniques)
Ability to navigate between different project methodologies (i.e. Agile, waterfall)
They will facilitate working sessions using targeted facilitation and advanced modeling techniques.
Will work in a highly collaborative, cross functional development team on various project activities.
Ability to develop / coordinate cross-functional work groups and projects, yielding optimal outcomes.
- Creation and management of documentation including policies, standards, work procedures, training and other project related material. This includes managing versions, capturing edit history and collecting, coordinating and managing changes and approvals from a large group of stakeholders.
- Meeting management including coordination of meeting, capturing of minutes, recording and follow up of action items. Meeting preparation including development of agenda, presentation material, room logistics.
- Facilitation of design meetings utilized to clarify requirements. Create an environment where technical and business resources can collaboratively work to solve design and process issues and establish clear requirements for project. BA is responsible for providing the methodology for presenting the issues, logically working through solutions and documenting results.
Proven ability to apply industry standard modeling techniques as appropriate to further deepen a common understanding across project team members and stakeholders.
Proven ability to perform analysis and support teams during an analysis effort.
Minimum 1 year of hands on experience working in a development environment that utilizes agile development methodologies
Ability to conduct research, product evaluations, and vendor contract reviews.
Proven expertise in identifying user stories, use cases, features and requirements in accordance with organizational standards and processes.
Broad understanding of analysis and IT industry, e.g. emerging technologies, industry standards, support services, architectures, systems design, and systems integration and solid knowledge of analysis and accepted IT processes and methodologies.
Creative problem solving skills and ability to effectively communicate and translate feedback, needs and solutions.
Ability to guide decision making amongst stakeholders to resolve competing priorities regarding requirements, features and other backlog requests.
Must have strong teamwork orientation and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams.
Knowledge and capabilities typically acquired through at least 4 years of Information Technology related experience and a Bachelor degree in an information technology-related discipline is preferred; other non-Information Technology degrees will be considered.
