Job Description:

Aquent is currently searching for a Corporate Event Planner for a one year (likely longer) assignment at a client site in New York City!

The ideal candidate for the Commercial Events team is a driven, passionate self-motivator, who encompasses the skill set of strategic thinking within the events space and who possesses the discipline and skill necessary to assist in planning best-in-class events. By utilizing a strong understanding of event logistics and strategic planning across the event lifecycle, the candidate will support the creation of best-in-class event experiences. ideal candidate must constantly strive for improvements in process and execution and be willing to collaborate cross departmentally, as needed.

Responsibilities: 

- Proprietary event planning and activation - bring a deep expertise to the table including a rich knowledge of strategies and tactics that support the proprietary events channel 

- Implementation of digital trends, innovations and industry best-practices that impact the brand experience, specifically in the CVent and Salesforce spaces for event registration and reporting 

- Creative, innovative and proactive approach to all aspects of event production, constantly seeking to exceed the experiences created and effectiveness of all processes 

- Logistical support of proprietary events from contract negotiation to planning to onsite execution and post-event analysis 

- Create detailed Project plans for each event and use project management skills to keep event on time and budget 

- Experience in venue, vendor and DMC research and ability to create detailed and thoughtful presentation decks to present to event team 

- Understanding of effective event registration tracking, with attention paid to reporting information to manager on a regular basis 

- Ability to work across multiple groups including procurement, legal, accounting and tax to ensure that all invoices, contracts and creative are properly processed 

- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of marketing strategy, agencies and manager to meet the needs of the business and to keep all parties up to date on events and their outcomes 

- Willingness to communicate effectively with third-party vendors and partners to ensure time lines and communication stays on track 

- Ability to perform administrative tasks, including contract review, budget tracking, accurate forecasting, record-keeping, calendar oversight and debrief coordination 

- Excellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to clearly communicate feedback and content to the broader team 

Basic Qualifications: 

- Bachelor’s Degree or military experience 

- 3+ years of event experience / event data analysis experience 

- At least 2 years’ experience working with event / creative agencies 

- At least 2 years’ experience leveraging CVent and Salesforce in the marketing/finance industry 

Preferred Qualifications: 

- 2+ Strategic event planning experience (using marketing strategy to create event recommendations for the annual events plan) 

- 2+ years of experience working in a strategic planning environment with cross-departmental communication and collaboration 

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office (word, excel, PowerPoint), CVent and Allocadia
