Job Description:

Our client, a non-profit organization located in Washington D.C., is looking for a UX/UI Designer. This person will be creating highly intuitive, elegant, user-centric design solutions for the organization's digital strategy team. Designs will incorporate current best practices for usability, user engagement, responsive design, SEO, and optimized web page performance. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal staff, enterprise-wide stakeholders, content producers, and web developers to translate business needs and user goals into intuitive and engaging experiences. This is a fast-paced, iterative environment which employs an agile web development process. 


  • Work closely with the visual design team to maintain UX/Visual integrity throughout projects 
  • Design end-to-end user experiences for multiple projects. 

Project will require: 

  • Experience user flows 
  • Shape and create wireframes based on business needs 
  • Creating functional prototypes (consultant will use/provide software of choice) 
  • Detailed, annotated, functional requirements/specifications 
  • Design and bring to color wireframes, and communicate/hand off appropriate files to developers 
  • Work with product managers, program managers, and developers to estimate scope and establish priorities 
  • Work closely with developers to maintain functional integrity throughout implementation 


  • 5+ years of as UX/UI Designer with proven experience designing for a responsive environment 
  • Digital portfolio/samples of professional work. (must have wires and visual design examples)
  • Understanding of working in an agile development environment 
  • Experience designing in Photoshop, illustrator, and or Sketch 
  • Experience creating wireframes in Axure, Sketch, illustrator, or other comparable software 
  • Self-motivated with excellent presentation and written/oral communication skills 
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team, and proactive asking questions, etc 
  • Well organized and effective time management 
  • Up to date on current trends and software 
  • Familiar using grids (Bootstrap, fluid percentage grids etc)
