Job Description:

We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator for our valued client in the oil/gas industry. This is a temporary role onsite in North Houston. 

• JOB SCOPE: The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for accurate worldwide shipping and logistics arrangements and communications. Logistics Coordinator will direct the efforts of the packing and freight forwarding entities to ensure that all transportation is booked, with proper documentation and all relevant Import and/or Export paperwork is prepared in accordance with Drilling Services procedures,  Global Logistics and Global Trade Compliance Manual procedures. 
• Must be a motivated, team player with demonstrated attention to details, a sense of urgency in processing shipments and ensuring shipments are processed efficiently to final destination. 
• Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by Manager within the physical constraints of the job. 

• Communicate daily with various parties, including but not limited to freight forwarders, customs brokers and global regions. 
• Coordinate international shipments with freight forwarders and customers to ensure timely delivery of all shipments. 
• Interface with key departments and personnel to ensure logistics requirements are met while maintaining up-to-date accurate and concise information flow. 
• Effectively handle email volume, phone calls and clerical duties; as required. 
• Response time to emails within the same working day. 
• Assist as necessary to resolve problems, such as discrepancies in documentation 
• Communicate and escalate timely when problems may result in customer dissatisfaction 
• Seek cost-effective shipping options, including both air and ocean carriers. 
• Complete and maintain accurate shipping documentation for records retention. 
• Ensure COO and HTS information is accurate on all documentation 
• Review all paper work to ensure accuracy and take corrective action immediately 
• Maintain/Generate invoices ensure properly coded, matches CI and produced timely. 
• Audit International Vendor Freight Invoices for accuracy to invoice and quotes 
• Maintain shipment status report and utilize the dashboard to ensure timely shipment processing. 
• May receive and process requests/inquires from other company locations. 
• Perform work assignments with attention to detail in order to achieve excellence in customer service and carried out to the highest quality level. 
• Have a clear understanding of MSDS and proper labeling and documentation required for shipments (domestically and internationally) 
• Maintain proper HAZ-MAT certifications: IATA, IMDG and DOT and recurrent training requirements per each mode of transportation. 
• Willingness to help others and serve as backup beyond specific assignment. 
• Maintain respectful and professional relationships with all levels of staff, customers, logistics service providers 
• Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by manager within the physical constraints of the job. 
• Know and understand standard Logistics SOP’s and Desk Level Work Instructions 
• Know and understand foreign country shipping profile requirements and report to management any inconsistencies 
• Know and understand JDE Green Light process. 
• Know and understand the company's Trade Compliance Procedures Manual and all relevant processes 
• Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of company
• Know and understand company's Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instruction.

• Strong attention to detail, with excellent follow-up • The ability to be accurate, with proven ability to work well under pressure, changes, and CONSTANT deadlines • General understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. • Good interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work well with internal and external customers. • Customer focus- achieving company, department and personal goals through a strong customer focus. • Efficient written and oral communication skills with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment. • Ability to prioritize and timely complete tasks. • Well organized, self-motivated, able to exercise independent judgment, and demonstrate good problem solving skills. • Prior knowledge of US Export Controls, AES, Foreign Trade Regulations, Standard practices for handling international shipments, HTS, Import Customs and Logistics. • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook). • Adaptable to change with the proven ability and willingness to learn new processes and concepts. • Working knowledge of JD Edwards or the like • Some Product knowledge desirable • Must possess working knowledge of international shipping documentation and terminology (customs, commercial invoicing, tariff documentation, etc.) • Understanding of the US Automated Export System (AES) • Understanding of US Export Controls, EAR, FTR, Incoterms and Import Regulations. • Understand and properly apply the US Harmonized Tariff Schedule, (HTS) codes • Demonstrated knowledge of JD Edwards software • 1-3 years international and domestic shipping and logistics experience • At least 1-3 years in a customer service capacity within a global industry: oil & gas or International Freight Forwarding • Basic knowledge of oilfield industry, products and services
