Job Description:

The In-House Creative team at our pharmaceutical client is a small, highly experienced group of designers, copywriters, video editors, and account managers who offer strategic, design and copy/content solutions for a broad range of Pfizer internal clients. Our clients are primarily focused in New York and Chicago, but the team services global clients as well. The Junior Copywriter is responsible for writing medically accurate and compelling copy for both healthcare professionals and consumer audiences, conducting literature searches, analyzing clinical study data, proofreading and preparing submissions for medical/regulatory review. 

The Junior Copywriter position will be part of an internal creative team with daily interactions among the team’s designers, video editors and account managers. The position requires experience and confidence interacting directly with clients, listening to project needs and creating content solutions, and soliciting direct feedback from clients. Our group is a growing unit and requires team members with a collaborative attitude and entrepreneurial spirit.

These duties are primarily promotionally focused, and we are seeking an individual with promotional copy experience. This unique position requires very specific social skills such as listening to clients and understanding their needs before making design decisions, while assigned to, and/or working on a variety of projects and activities.

• Collaborates with designers, account managers and other senior writers during the creative process.

• Develops copy that is promotional, strategically relevant and scientifically sound.

• Reviews references along with primary core promotional materials for accuracy and relevance.

• Responsible for preparing submissions for medical/regulatory approval, which may include: proofreading, preparing annotations, compiling reference documents and digital submission.

• Responsible for understanding and incorporating client and medical/regulatory feedback.

• Executes multiple projects within tight timeframes.

• Will have project work reviewed and will take guidance from lead copywriter.



• Degree in the biological sciences (B.S. or M.S.) and a desire to work in a healthcare/pharmaceutical advertising environment.

• Proficient in AMA Manual of Style.

• Experienced in MS Word, Adobe Professional and PowerPoint.

• Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude is a must.

• Pharmaceutical or healthcare experience is a PLUS. 

• Highly creative conceptual thinker who can communicate the big idea across multiple tactics and channels.

• Ability to conduct literature searches and understand journal articles/medically-related literature.

• Excellent verbal and written skills.

• Detail-oriented, thorough, and accurate.

• Flexible and can accommodate rapidly shifting priorities and deadlines.

• Must be comfortable engaging with clients directly.
