Skilled Technical Proposal Writer to respond to both public and private-sector Requests for Proposal (RFP) documents. Responses, while technical in nature, need to be understood by the layperson while conveying comprehensive technical compliance to each requirement. The successful applicant will be responsible for document writing and production, based on requirements set forth in the potential client’s RFP, that explain complex information in a clear and concise manner. Previous experience as a Technical Writer and/or responding to RFP documents, with an impressive WIN Ratio.
Responsibilities and Duties • Compile, organize, write and edit Request for Purchase (RFP) Responses. • Help develop and maintain a comprehensive product resource guide of technical terminology and documentation. • Manage updates and revisions to technical and non-technical literature. Qualifications and Skills • Able to work independently and within teams • Able to interview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and lead discussions w/SMEs as much a leadership role as ability to write. • Able to learn quickly • Detail-oriented and self-motivated • Thrives gracefully under pressure in a demanding environment • Highly organized and able to meet deadlines • Able to discretely handle highly confidential information • Able to manage multiple demands • Strong work ethic • Responds well to constructive feedback • Comfortable with technology • Excellent and professional command of the English language in a written and verbal capacity • Ability to analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content. • Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences. • Strong prioritization and organizational skills. • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • Proficiency with Google Sheets and Docs, including adding and formatting graphic exhibits. • Operates with a high degree of accuracy with strong attention to detail. • Ability to manage conflicting priorities while respecting tight deadlines • Proven ability to establish professional working relationships with colleagues and external clients.
Not-for-profit organization based in McLean, Virginia. Managing federally funded research and development centers supporting several U.S. government agencies.
This position will be a W-2 hourly Freelance Position. Candidates must be willing to work on-site in McLean, VA.
