Job Description:

In this assignment with Aquent's client, you will be working in a moonshot factory where uncomfortably ambitious, potentially world-changing new ideas are developed and taken out into the world.  These projects have the potential to transform the lives of billions of people and make the world a radically better place. You'll be working with a team of makers, entrepreneurs, engineers and scientists with deep technical expertise who love the challenge of the seemingly impossible. This role is with the early stage investigation team who are a multidisciplinary team working on many different ideas and technologies - some turn into projects, others get shelved. 

Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with hardware engineers and scientists and users to build front end of software; own this whole workstream
  2. Build out the prototype created — test, debug, implement design changes and add features based on user feedback and project evolution and create mobile ready version of it
  3. Drive productization of the prototype, work with multiple platforms to prototype and choose which platform will be best

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Write functional requirement documents and guides and create quality mockups and prototypes
  • Drive testing and integration of the the software with entire system to validate selection of product features and further development

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 5+years proven working experience in software engineering
  • Solid experience in front-end web development, JS/HTML5/CSS
  • Working knowledge of the Node.js framework, WebGL and/or the Pixi.js library, WebSockets and TCP sockets
  • Understanding of hardware integration needs, ie TCP/IP data streams, digital signal processing principles, low latency data communication and visualization via various wireless protocols including bluetooth
  • Ability to drive UI/UX design needed for large sets of data visualization at high speed and in real time
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage, embody the entrepreneurial spirit, and able to navigate through ambiguity
