Job Description:

We are looking for a Software QA Test Technician to join our team!

This role is on-site, long term contract, located in Boise, ID

 

Position Summary:

Test Technicians will receive test requests and prioritization assignments, setup and perform test procedures and report accurate and thorough reports, following reproducibility guidelines and testing standards.  

 

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update test cases for new and sustaining projects 

• Develop new test cases and/or suites to cover new features or areas needing extended coverage

• Execute manual regression test cases, exploratory or adhoc testing, etc. 

• Analyze test results and take appropriate action

• Reproduce failed tests

• Communicate with and help fellow test technicians on current processes and reproduction scenarios

• Enter results into specified system of record tool (ALM, JIRA)

• Track potential defects and issues from a find state to resolution 

• Perform defect fix verification when defects have been resolved

• Enter fail ID’s into defect system and defect ID in Test case tool

• Assist with tools and process development 

• Set up complicated test configurations 

• Constant communication of status, results, or blocking issues to the Lead and/or management 

• Prepare and maintain test documentation 

• Identify opportunities for best practices and process improvements 

• Flexibility in schedule when coordination is required with other time zone locations

• Cross train in other process areas to ensure backup coverage

• Agile and SCRUM Methodology processes

• Using and updating SCRUM project tool for task management (JIRA)

• Attend and participate in project specific or Aquent team meetings (Daily Stand-Ups, Staff meetings, etc.)

• Computer system hardware setup and troubleshooting 

 

Requirements:

• At least 3 years prior experience working in a test lab environment 

• Basic knowledge of defect tracking/management systems (ALM and JIRA)

• Basic shell commands

• Linux, Windows

• Networking 

• Computer hardware 

• MS Office Suites (Outlook is a priority)

• Communication / team work / multi-tasking

• Basic SDLC knowledge is a plus

• Developed interpersonal skills

• Must demonstrate a professional workplace attitude

 

Education: 

• Typically 2 years of technical education and 3 years of hands on experience or equivalent combination
