AQUENT is partnering with one of our most prestigious clients to help them build a brand new team. One of the most urgent needs is a passionate Senior Program Manager to help guide the design and development of important new products. 

Senior Program Manager

As a Program Manager, you will join this client’s team to support multiple projects for their new product offerings.  You will be responsible for driving consensus and supporting the full product development lifecycle across multiple groups within the organization and with their partners.

Program Management Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate understanding and experience with a variety of methodologies from Agile to Waterfall, and be able to program-manage and deliver in either a mixed method or pure Agile environment
  • Provide estimation and planning across the project lifecycle resulting in project plans and detailed project tracking controls
  • Identify and secure internal and contract resources, as needed, to provide the right mix of expertise and skills for the project
  • Write user stories or functional requirements
  • Manage day-to-day program operations serving as both the functional/domain and technical delivery expert on the project team
  • Provide quality oversight on all project deliverables prepared by the project team before submission to the external partner
  • Identify, quantify, and manage risk to project delivery
  • Build and motivate teams by helping individuals maximize their potential
  • Expertly manage cross-functional communication, ultimately driving alignment across all stakeholders
  • Work with development teams to tease out implementation details and identify roadblocks before they occur
  • Manage and execute testing, including defining appropriate test approaches, writing test plans, scenarios and scripts, executing testing, managing functional resources in their execution of test scripts, reporting on and communicating test status, and managing the resolution of defects
  • Communicate to teams the impact of feature or schedule changes 
  • Work with Program Director and other finance managers to accurately assess the level of effort in order to deliver financial forecasts

Communication Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for the project
  • Facilitate internal / external working sessions and lead recurring project status meetings
  • Serve as the liaison between internal / external teams and keep all parties informed of project updates, decisions, actions, issues, and risks
  • Be organized and structured in written and oral communications with an ability to level communications appropriately to the target audience (be it internal teams or C-level external partners)
  • Develop long-lasting, trusted advisor relationships with external partners
  • Be able to work with practitioners from the user experience, visual design, quality assurance, and business disciplines to coordinate activities and drive toward a high quality solution

This role reports directly to the Head of Product Management. You will be working in a dynamic, highly collaborative, fast paced environment. All of our web app experiences are responsive and require ADA Accessibility compliance.

Qualifications

  • This is a senior level role and requires all candidates to have 10+ years in a project/program management role, ideally from a design consultancy or agency
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative, agile (preferably SCRUM or Kanban) environment
  • Scrum Master and/or Agile Coach certification
  • 4-6 years of management experience bringing medium to large-scale complex projects through the full software development life cycle using the Agile framework
  • Has a collaborative work ethic and easy going nature
  • Proven experience in people management, strategic planning, risk management and change management
  • Drive discussion when conflicts arise and work with team to a solution
  • Must have excellent leadership, team management, relationship building, interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
  • Excellent business and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Program skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs & Drive, Omniplan, MS Project, MS Visio, Visual Studio Online, Trello, Slack, Jira, Confluence, Sharepoint
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field 
  • Program skills: Adobe Creative Suite, Omnigraffle, Invision
