Writes a variety of text for web applications, including some promotional and marketing materials. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Copywriter II must have the ability to write copy for small-to-midsize promotional campaigns, corporate capability materials, or basic Web content. Works closely with members of the UX design team, business team, and IT teams towards the delivery of well designed web applications.
The copy writer will write instructions, informative text and field labels for transactional flows (such as: registering as a user for the site or filing a claim). The goal is to ensure the user has a clear understanding of the task and how to complete it. There will also be opportunities to write promotional copy for advertisements, new products or cross sale and up sale features.
The copy writer is also expected to be knowledgeable with 508 requirements and compliance issues. 508 compliance means that all users, regardless of disability status, can access the technology. Portions of this mean writing alternative copy for images, creating copy for icons and buttons as well as logically guiding the user through the page if they’re using the tab key on the keyboard.
Additionally, The copy writer will work with the User Experience and Business teams to incorporate images and requirements for a project. A primary goal will be to create a copy deck. This entails creating a document with all, but not limited to, the aforementioned needs.
