Job Description:

In this assignment, your efforts will result in useful, usable products that delight and empower a broad spectrum of users around the world—from the first-time user to the sophisticated expert. Achieving this goal requires collaboration with teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers and Product Managers throughout the design process. Depending on the project, you may be involved in all aspects of design: from early explorations through concept prototyping and pixel-level specification. Your day may involve designing interfaces, mapping out user journeys, creating visual assets, brainstorming in a large group, or prototyping interactions. You have a strong interest in technology and have worked alongside engineers and product managers.

Team: The team consists of Interaction Designers, User Experience Researchers, UI Engineers, and a UI Writer who focus on the user experience for all products in the client's Cloud Platform and in client’s Developer Infrastructure organization.

Purpose: Provide design & research that leads to useful, usable, consistent, scalable Cloud-based products that set industry standards and empower internal and external developers to build websites, apps, and services on the same robust infrastructure that powers client's own products.

Mission: Transforming client’s external developer tools into a cutting-edge, unified, beautiful, and usable cloud platform for the architects of tomorrow’s web.

Help define the user experience for new and existing Cloud Platform services.
Collaborate with researchers, other designers, product managers and software engineers.
Balance product, development and user-centered goals to help shape overall product experience.
Develop storyboards, mockups and prototypes to communicate interaction and design ideas.
Assess the usability of products and make constructive suggestions for improvement.

Required Skills:
2 years relevant work experience with a BA/BS in Graphic Design, Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction or similar; or 4 years relevant work experience.
Work samples exhibiting complex problem-solving, user focus, and ability to launch products.
Comprehensive understanding of interaction conventions and aesthetic principles.
Ability to produce low and high fidelity mockups using industry standard software.
Ability to prioritize and manage workload independently to meet project goals.
Strong understanding of web technologies and best practices for web design.
Excellent communication skills in expressing conceptual ideas and design rationale.

Nice to Have:
Experience with enterprise products, productivity apps, data dense UIs, approval chains and some data visualization, this could be a very good fit.
Familiarity with Material Design is also a plus
Web standards development or prototyping skills (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).
Experience building good, collaborative relationships across geographically distributed teams.
Familiarity with user research methods or experience working closely with researchers.
Familiarity with cloud computing or data center technologies.
Familiarity with software development.
