Job Description:

 

The Design Director is responsible for translating strategies into stories across assigned brands, while ensuring that concept, art direction and design are on-brand and on-strategy. The Design Director focuses on the visual design of the project, and works closely with copywriters and other creative team members to deliver brilliant, cross-platform solutions. The Design Director is a client-facing role, therefore excellent presentation skills and the ability to speak strategically are a must. 

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS 
• Create innovative design solutions including graphics and/or environments for key brand visual assets. Key focus is on ideation, concept development, branding and collateral materials 
• Create presentation materials that effectively communicate design concepts. Lead presentations to Associate Creative Director, internal partners and appropriate external vendors 
• Work in collaboration with project team members to ensure client expectations and 
engagement requirements are met 
• Create innovative and thoughtful design solutions to complex brand and communications problems 
• Actively gain knowledge of current trends, color, technology and other related design influences. Use knowledge and research to create innovative solutions 
• Identify, engage and manage vendors such as photographers and illustrators, as needed 
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a highly organized and detailed manner 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 
• Graduate or undergraduate degree in related art or equivalent visual design 
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with brand identity, advertising and website development; minimum 4 years within brand identity

• Superior analytical, conceptual and design abilities 
• Ability to lead projects from concept to completion 
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, and manage self as well as others 
• Hands-on, expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office software programs 
• Be self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
