Position overview
We’re looking for an exceptional UX/Product designer to work with the Shopping Insights team in San Francisco. The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio of work samples showcasing UX prowess, creativity, and depth of thought for robust desktop and mobile web applications. If you are a UX/Product designer passionate about data driven storytelling, data visualization, consumer behaviour and trends, we would love to hear from you.

Today, even though 87% of shoppers research products online, around 92% of purchases are still done at brick-and-mortar stores. To help marketers and retailers understand trends and popularity of products near their stores and how consumers shop for them, we created Shopping Insights.

Shopping Insights allows retail and marketing executives to explore which products are popular on Google.com, how they trend over time, compare regional preference and see how people are using mobile and desktop devices to shop. Our mission is to help our advertising customers make more informed decisions about their marketing through data and insights. We are a team in fairly early stages, looking to build our UX capacity, in order to redesign the product.

Top 3 daily Responsibilities
Lead UX design of the Shopping Insights product on desktop and mobile web.
Envision how people experience our products and bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired, refined and even magical.
You’ll take on complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use designs.

Overall Responsibilities
Help define the user model and user interface for Shopping Insights.
Develop detailed storyboards, mockups, and prototypes to effectively convey interaction and design ideas.
Communicate effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas effectively.

Required Skills
5+ Years of experience in UX/Product Design with desktop and mobile web apps.
BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, CS, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Demonstrated experience in crafting usable digital interfaces.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

Nice to Have
Proficient with industry standard design tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch).
Familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile, Android and iOS.
Proven ability to act as a leader in communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale, all within a user-centered design process.
Must be self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships.

Requirements:

Background check required if selected.
