Job Description:

An Assistant Editor at Cake Mix Studios is responsible for all incoming media, media management and archiving. This person is key to ensuring the effective daily operation of the Cake Mix Post team 
Media Management, Archiving and Asset Delivery Responsibilities include: 
• Prep Music Cue sheets 
• Upload content to HCSP 
• Assist Post Supervisor with final Broadcast deliveries to multiple distribution partners 
• Fulfill requests for Cake Mix-produced video assets received via the client Intranet Request page 
• Maintain Cat DV 
• Provide training/support to other team members as necessary 
• Move media onto the production server 
• Archive media to near-line LTO system 
Media Ingest and Output, Quality Control and Project Prep Responsibilities include: 
• Quality control on incoming footage, project timelines, digital file deliveries, tape laybacks and physical masters 
• Prepare projects for Editors by organizing media, binning footage and syncing sound 
• Assist editors by creating animatics, footage string-outs, rough cuts, preliminary sound design and animation 
• Prepare footage and sequences for turnovers (EDL's, XML, Automatic Duck, OMFs) 
• Prepare edits for internal review and client approvals 
• Create and organize support documentation (VFX breakdowns, script notes, cue sheets) 

Editorial Work Responsibilities include: 
• Perform creative editorial work, particularly on non-broadcast content 
• Work directly with Producers and Brand Teams to execute the creative vision 

Support Facility and Equipment Maintenance Responsibilities include: 
• Identify and troubleshoot technical problems 
• Provide corrective measures to remedy problems 
• Maintain tape stock supplies 
• Perform occasional runner duties, office assistance, client service 

Education Requirements: 
JR - Bachelor Degree with a minimum of 2 years professional experience with interactive production. 
Experience: 
JR - Has a proficient understanding of principles in one or more functions of a position. Typically possesses 2+ years of relevant work experience ​
Complexity: 
JR - Generally performs single function tasks that tend to be of moderate size and scope
