Job Description:

This TOP social media company, head-quartered in Menlo Park, CA, is seeking a UX Researcher

Duties: 
• Broad skills in qualitative and design research methods and an understanding of quantitative concepts. 
• Conduct ongoing evaluative research 
• Translate research requests into clear and appropriate research goals 
• Educate others on value and benefits of research and various methods 
• Design an appropriate research plan to achieve goals 
• Collaborate with designers to ensure designs (prototypes, concepts) are appropriate for evaluative research 
• Conduct research using a wide variety of qualitative methods and a subset of quantitative methods, such as surveys 
• Analyze and interpret data 
• Communicate findings in a way project teams take action 
• Collaborate with other researchers (inc data science), other functions and teams to gain shared vision across all steps of research 

Skills: 
• 3+ years conducting user research, both generative and evaluative research at a company
• 3+ years experience in applied product research at a company
• Prior experience educating others on user research 
• Excels at working cross-functionally 
• Excellent observation and note-taking skills 
• Detailed oriented and ability to work independently on a variety of tasks 
• Excels at communicating research in a way that ensures action 
• Can work independently and prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects 

Education: 
• BA/BS degree in human behavior related field (HCI, Psychology, Social Science, Information Science, etc.) 
• MA / PhD preferred but not required
