Our top publihsing client is looking for a Corrections Coordinator for a temporary position to help the workload realignment with a new department and with the transition to a more digital workflow. The individual must be attentive to detail. 
- Understanding of the book production process, from corrections through bound book a plus 
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills 
- Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple tasks with differing priorities simultaneously 

Job responsibilities: 
• Importing and exporting excel files into database 
• Find sample books of recent printings in Library 
• Scanning books for database and markup purposes 
• Adding PDFs to database 
• Convert scans PDFs into text 
• Review for affected titles 
• Archive requests 
• Research whether images have been replaced in similar books previously 
• Create markup from scans or PDFs 
• Prepare packet for composition vendor 
• Adds new hires images with new credit information to package when approved along with any editorial corrections 
• Sends packet to composition vendor 
• Reviews PDFs and printer proofs 
• Sends to digital product if any 

Qualifications 
• Appropriate combination of education and experience 
• Basic Microsoft Excel a plus 
• Acrobat Professional a plus 
• Filemaker Pro a plus 
• Google Mail and Drive experience a plus 

This department is in need of a Corrections Specialist to handle multiple projects (up to 30 titles) of print and digital corrections per month. The individual must be attentive to detail along with being aware of version control and technical issues that may arise to due legacy files. 
- Understanding of the book production process, from corrections through bound book 
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills 
- Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple tasks with differing priorities simultaneously 

Job responsibilities: 
• Check daily reprint report from procurement for editorial or permission-related corrections for designated printers.
• Make text corrections/image replacements, or manage composition overseas vendors in a timely manner for designated printers or assigned science titles. 
• Manage legacy issues due to technology or permissions. 
• Manage digital derivative products of assigned titles if applicable. 
• Archive corrections in a timely manner. 
• Review and code invoices for outsourced corrections in invoice system or hard copy and move on to manager. 

Qualifications 
- Bachelor’s degree or appropriate combination of education and experience 
- 3+ years’ experience working in production or page layout, preferably in publishing 
• Basic understanding of Word and Excel 
• Google Mail and Drive experience a plus 
• Quark, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator experience a plus. 
• Documentum experience a plus.
