Job Description:

We are looking for a User Experience Designer in the Seattle, WA area for a global retail client. 

· 5+ years of experience as a UX designer, interaction designer, or similar UX-related role 
· Advanced knowledge of UX best practices, such as information architecture, user-centered design process, principles, and techniques. 
· Strong communication skills, written and verbal. Must be able to present to stakeholders with sound design rationale 
· Experience in creating prototypes and highly detailed wireframes 
· Advanced skill level in the standard tools of the design trade, e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects 
· Ability to work in an iterative environment and synthesize feedback from multiple owners

Responsibilities include: 
· Design complex business workflow tools that integrate with multiple systems 
· Creation of holistic end-to-end experiences for external and internal customers, 
· Collaboration with other UX designers on UX patterns and UI style guide 
· Collaboration with UX research to test and validate new features 

Project Details: 

Treasure Truck is a pilot project in Seattle. It is a new super fun and unique retail channel, half retail half entertainment/theatre. Customers sign up for notifications, on the day of an offer, there is 1 truck that is filled up with whatever that item is, customers buy it from their mobile app and then go and meet the truck at a pre-set time and location; highly coveted premium products at great prices; prev. products include live losters, prime steaks, coffee bar machines. An offer is released about once a week. 

Prior Desired  Experience: any of the local tech companies, MS, Adobe, Google; want them to have a reasonable eye in terms of design but also fairly technical - there are a lot of UX puzzles, need expereince working on fairly tenchical project 



*role is to help team design a tool that all biz functions use to basically make an offer come to live, operations - biz team that sources the product, get it in stock in the FC then get it onto the truck, creative - posts on  app, put up a 1 day detail page, posting social notifications. 
*the "offer management tool" is really the backbone of the buisness, this role is to help design the tool; highly ddetail oriented, needs to be able to talk to the various stakeholder groups, gather requiremenets, understand the needs of each of the stakeholder groups 
*day to day: working thru the various features of the offer mgmt tool - primary partner would be the product manager who is the bridge to connect the UX desginer with the biz teams and development 
*schedule normal business hours, 40 hours per week, OT not likely but possible if there is a business critical need 
*team: MUST be located in Seattle, will be sitting with the other 4 members of the creative team on Treasure Truck 
*must haves: need to have ability to take requirements and crystalize them down into UX designes to solve a UX needs, translate their designs into redlines to hand off to develops; Adobe creative suite, some prototyping tools - ability to prototype design beyond sceenshots to help communicate how the tool is meant to behave 
*soft skills/LP's: bias for action, ownership, invent and simplify, customer obsession -really getting into what their life is like for the people who are going to be using the tool day in and day out 
*separating best vs average candidate: the ownership piece, ability to have where withall to work in an not 100% desgined, self motivated to get the job done and contribute. 
*on level of creativity/design involvement in project: need to make something relatively clean, not too much room for making the tool pretty/creative; more functional than design based. Similar to designing a web application like beeline. But need to have an understanding of how visuals affect the usability of the tool
